We chased this “Ghost” Deal to 3 local Walmart stores … all 3 stores did NOT have the Ben-Gay 2oz product for $4.23, although one store did have a $4.23 tag with an empty shelf. We were told at that Walmart that the warehouse was out of stock and they would not be getting any more. At the other two Walmarts, they did not even have the 2.oz tag, they had the new improved 2.67 oz for $5.49 thereby negating any overage on this deal. Would be curious to know if ANYONE was able to find the 2oz. for $4.23 and get the overage back? My suspicion is the manufacturer stopped producing the 2oz. size some time ago and replaced it with the more costly 2.67 oz.

Went to my Walmart in Richfield, MN and they have been out for a few days. I was told it is “on order”. Went to Walgreens and they charge $5.99 so I will wait until it is in stock. My cashiers have been extremely nice and helpful about price matches. I love Walmart!

Sold out at Target and Walmart, but I went to Albertsons and they have it priced for 5.49, plus they are doing double coupons up to a dollar, not a moneymaker, but they will take off the 49 cents so they are free. Cashier nice, but they do inspect their coupons!!

Went to try to get the deal and like someone mentioned, all of a sudden several of them are suddenly more expensive. Going to try another store this weekend when I drive by it.

Our WalMart seems to hike up the prices when these type of deals come forth because all of a sudden our BenGay products are $9.00! Same thing happened two months back with the Bandaid deal and some candy deal. Go figure.

I have yet yo find a Walmart in any town that isn’t kinda rude about coupons. I contacted the corporate office regarding a price match that customer service said I could not do. Clearly in the policy they should have matched the price. The store manager called me in 24 hrs and for my store I was told if any cashier is difficult with a price match or the use of a coupon to have them get a manager. Read the policy and know the policy, keep a copy with you if needed.. Problems with your Walmart? Contact corporate.

Thanks.. it’s always tough when they don’t know the policy, and awkward when they think they’re going to get in trouble for something that’s absolutely ok to do! Just makes me uncomfortable; wish they trained people a little more.

I just used mine – of course, the cashier had to hit a button every time the register said “valid coupon amount?” because of the overage… and every time she hit the button, she’d say how much trouble she was probably going to get in because of my transaction. I never know what to say in those situations! I only purchased four to help with the cost of my dog food. But wow – embarrassing…

Dont be embarrassed. The policy states that “If coupon value exceeds the
price of the item, the excess may be given to the customer as cash or applied toward the basket purchase.”
