One of my favorite things to use when I’m Pregnant is the Palmer’s Tummy Butter for Stretch Marks but even on Amazon this is priced at $16.77 for one small Jar! I’ve been experimenting with making my own lotion for my little girl because she has very sensitive skin and I’ve found a formula for Tummy Butter that I love! It has that Same Greasy Emollient Feel that the Palmer’s Tummy Butter Has which is one of the reasons I love it!
To get started you’ll need the following ingredients:
– Beeswax
– Coconut Oil
– Shea Butter
– Vitamin E Oil
Can I just say that I also love that there are only a few ingredients so I know exactly what I’m putting on my skin!
You’ll also want to use a Double Boiler for this recipe, if you don’t have one you can improvise like I did :) Just put water in one larger pan, then put a smaller pan on top of the water. It works like a charm and you don’t have to invest in a second piece.
This awesome Tummy Butter would also make a great gift. You could add scents or coloring to it if you wanted but I love the all natural feel of it with just the coconut oil scent.
Homemade Tummy Butter Recipe
Tummy Butter Ingredients –
- 2 Tbsp. Beeswax
- 1/2 Cup. Coconut Oil
- 1/2 Cup Shea Butter
- 1/4 Cup Vitamin E Oil
How to Make Tummy Butter –
- Mix the first 3 ingredients together in the double boiler and stir till they are completely melted.
- Remove from heat and stir in Vitamin E Oil
- Pour into a Large Bowl for Mixing and allow to cool
- When cool beat mixture with a hand mixer or stand mixer this will keep the lotion smooth and help keep it from hardening. You can also pour the mixture into a jar before whipping but it will harden and be a little harder to use.
