This year a lot of retailers have announced they will be Price Matching Online Prices however the Black Friday Price Match Policy is often a little different than the traditional policy or even the holiday policy.
Here’s a quick round up of the Black Friday Price Match Policies for 2012
Walmart Black Friday Price Match Policy
Walmart has not announced a specific Black Friday 2012 policy but the typical Ad Match Policy does allow for price matching specific items with a specific price listed. Walmart will not price match a B1G1 Free item without a price or a % off sale without a specific item listed. You will need to present the ad within the sale hours in order to receive a price match, so to price match a Black Friday Item you would need to buy the item during the early bird hours or on Black Friday, depending on the hours of the sale for the item you want to match.
Best Buy Black Friday Price Match Policy
The online Price Match Policy for Best Buy will begin on November 4th however Best Buy will not have this policy in place from Black Friday – Cyber Monday. Best Buy will only match online prices on appliances and electronics and this is at the discretion of employees so I’m a little skeptical about how this will all work out. There are 20 retailers included in the Best Buy Online Price Match Policy including Amazon.com but remember this policy will not apply from Black Friday – Cyber Monday so you won’t really be able to price match on Black Friday at Best Buy.
Target Black Friday Price Match Policy
Target has one of the best list of Black Friday Price Match Policy guidelines. Target will match select online competitors prices in stores between November 1st and December 16th. During that time if you first purchase an item from a target store then find it lower on Target.com, Amazon.com, Walmart.com BestBuy.com, Toys R Us.com or a Local competitor Printed Ad Target will refund you the difference. The trick here is that you have to purchase the item first :) I’m assuming you could also bring in an ad and buy it for the advertised price but that is not specifically stated.
Toys R Us Black Friday Price Match Policy
Toys R Us is working hard to compete with the other Price Matching Policies. This year they will offer Price Adjustments to any shopper who finds a better price on an identical item within 7 days of making a purchase. There is no specification as to if these need to be online or in store prices. I’m guessing this will be up to the local stores but I’ll be sure to update you if I find out differently.
We have seen a lot of retailers stepping up their Black Friday Deals this year so it’s looking like it should be a very competitive Holiday Shopping Season! Online sales are expected to increase again this year make sure you’re checking the Black Friday Deals Page frequently for all the best updates on online and in store promotions!
