I was at the Dollar Tree and stumbled upon some inexpensive and pastel colored tissue paper and these cute little party cups. I grabbed some trinkets and candy and got work on my 12 days ’til Easter Countdown Calendar. Plus, be sure to check out even more Easter Crafts & Recipes!
Here’s What You Need:
- Pastel Colored Tissue Paper
- Small Plastic Party Cups
- Small Toys & Trinkets to fit inside the cup and candy
-small toys, rings, pencil erasers, bracelets, jelly beans, chocolate candies, m&ms - Rubber Bands
- Construction Paper and Decorative Scrapbook Paper
- Markers
- Glue Stick
- Hot Glue and Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Ruler
Directions:
- Place a piece of construction paper onto a flat surface.
- Line 12 cups on the paper to create an egg shape/oval. Using a pencil, trace the egg shape around the cups. Cut out with scissors.
- Add some additional scrapbook and construction paper to the egg. Using a glue stick, glue paper on the egg and trim the excess with scissors. to keep the egg shape.
- Write your countdown saying on the front of the egg. make sure you don’t write it too close to the edges, as the cups will cover it.
- Fill each cup with trinkets and candy.
- Cut 3, 3″ square pieces of tissue paper for each cup you plan to cover. Place the tissue paper onto the cup and secure it with a rubber band. Repeat until all of your cups are covered.
- Place your cups around the outside edge of the egg and attach to the egg with hot glue.
- Countdown to Easter by opening a cup every day!
Note: If you would like to hang this egg, you’ll need to put a cardboard backer on it. I suggest a strong piece of cardboard, a cardboard box or cereal box.
