I made this recipe in the evening and put the dough in the frig overnight. Just baked a cookie sheet full and they all went flat. My first thought would have been , bad baking soda or baking powder, but I just made other cookies using both and they turned out fine. Can I salvage them by adding more flower and soda or powder? Help!

Could you tell me how many cookies the recipe makes? These sound wonderful and I was thinking of maybe making some for my wedding. Thank you for sharing the recipe :)

How many cookies does this recipe make?

You can’t cream ice cold butter with the sugar. It would take forever for the butter to incorporate. Wouldn’t it be better if it was at room temperature?

Does not tell me what to do with the baking soda??

Hi Nicole, thanks for catching that! The recipe is updated now. Just add it to the other dry ingredients and then mix into the butter mixture. Enjoy!

My family LOVES this recipe! Everyone from the 18 month old boy to the 80 year old great grandparents adores these cookies! We’ve made them into big cookies, mini cookies, and bars sometimes with other times without icing. The bars are our favorite form- the texture is perfect! The taste is spot on with just enough lemon to satisfy a lemon craving, but not enough to make it tart or bitter! This is a 5 Star winner that we will be enjoying for years to come!
