12 Days of Christmas for Kids!
With Christmas coming, why not get the kids into the mood with 12 days of Christmas for kiactivities? For 12 days, you can choose a special activity for kids so you can slow down, bond, and enjoy the spirit of the holidays together. If planning activities for kids isn’t exactly a strength of yours, below you will find 12 days of Christmas for kids to get you started!

Day 1: Christmas Card Creation
For this day, you can put out an assortment of card making materials. Card stock, stickers, glitter, glue, markers, and other craft supplies will do. When done, invite children to give the cards to the persons of their choice. You can even drop them off at a local nursing home or hospital.
Day 2: Christmas Cookie Bake Off
Give children simple cookie recipes to follow and while you assist, allow them to bake up a storm. Let them frost and decorate cookies as well, and then trade them amongst each other. They may even enjoy decorating tins for the cookies to go in.
Day 3: Gingerbread House Contest
Use graham crackers, frosting, and candy pieces to make your own little gingerbread style houses. Kids will love getting creative and you can even give prizes for the most creative, biggest, etc.Day
4: Holiday Face Painting
Find some face paint at your local retail store and enjoy some holiday face painting. Try painting bells, wreaths, stars, trees, angels, elves, and Santa faces. Kids will love getting their faces painted and you can even take photos when done.
Day 5: Christmas Book Binge
Head to the local library and check out an assortment of Christmas and holiday books. You can snag fairy tales, non fiction, even holiday cook books. Enjoy your books there or head home and enjoy them with a warm drink.
Day 6: Christmas Caroling
Dig out your favorite Christmas carol cd’s and practice your tunes. Then, allow children to carol either at family and friend’s homes or in the neighborhood. Kids may even enjoy putting on small holiday skits for each other.
Day 7: Hot Chocolate Bar
Make some basic hot chocolate and place out an assortment of toppings and add ins. You can include marshmallow fluff, sprinkles, chocolate chips, mint sticks, cherries, and any other items that offer a tasty boost!
Day 8: Sledding Wars
Get out your tin foil, trash bags, garbage lids, and cardboard boxes for children to try making their own sleds with. They will love getting creative and coming up with their own sled ideas. The fun part will be seeing which one really takes off.
Day 9: Snowman Build Off
Find old clothing and accessories and let children build and decorate their own snowmen. You can even do a contest and offer prizes for most creative, tallest, most colorful, etc.

Day 10: Tie Dye Snow
Make the snow in your front yard really pop! Fill spray bottles with water that has been dyed with food coloring. Mix well and spray the snow to create all sorts of colors and designs.
If you don’t have Snow Yet, Try Making Your Own Homemade Snow by mixing 3 Cups of Baking Soda with 1/2 Cup of Hair Conditioner.
Day 11: Wreath Making
Place out simple wreath forms, ribbon, glitter, and silk flowers and greenery for children to craft their own wreath. Allow them to display on their bedroom door when done.
Day 12: Ornament Design
Buy a variety of clear ornaments as well as fillers like paint, glitter, pom poms, and more. Let children go crazy decorating their own ornament. Be sure they sign the bottom of the ornament when done and find it a special place on the tree. Our family loves making Salt Dough Ornaments! It’s a fun way to get creative and do something a little different!
