We love going to Home Depot for their kids workshops, so this is a great way to not miss out despite everything going on right now. The workshops are labeled with their difficulty levels, and there are a lot that are beginner levels – definitely what I need!
There are SO many of these workshops that my kids would love! One that really caught my eye was the How to Make a Tree Swing Workshop. I love this one because it will keep my kids outside and playing more this summer.
In less than 2 hours, you can build your own tree swing that’s ready to be hung. You’ll have a list of the supplies you need, and it tells you what to do step-by-step so it’s less daunting. Another plus? Adults can use this, too!
My daughter would love the How to Make a Bouquet of Zinnias From Pine Cones Workshop. This one looks SO neat because the pine cones really do resemble zinnias! The step-by-step directions for this intermediate level project take you all the way through, from collecting the pine cones to painting them, adding the stems and assembling the bouquet.
Kids LOVE to make slime, so I know the How to Make Slime Workshop will be super popular. In addition to regular slime, you’ll learn how to make flubber and slime with laundry detergent.
The best thing about this beginner’s level workshop is that you probably already have all of the supplies you need at home. Anything we can do that I don’t have to go buy things for is definitely a win in my book. Once your kids learn how to make this slime, they’ll want to do it all the time!
In addition to the project workshops, you’ll also find a bunch of inspiration guides. Instead of a step-by-step project, you’ll see different ways you can do various projects, and then you can take those inspirations and run with them to make your own creation!
The Fairy Garden Ideas Guide is one of my favorites. My daughter has been working on a fairy garden at our house, and this would give her some great ideas. You’ll find pictures of different ways you can make fairy gardens, such as in planters, in the shade and for fairy gardens that are built around trees!
Another inspiration guide that I love is How to Get Kids into Gardening. This is a great way to get the kids outside helping you in the garden. There are some really neat ideas, like dividing a garden into “pizza slices”. You can plant tomatoes in one part, and veggies in other sections. Then, when they have grown, you can pick them and make your own pizza! How fun would that be?!
You can also teach them how to grow food from seeds, such as putting an avocado pit in water with toothpicks to grow a new plant!
There are SO many amazing ideas that will keep you all busy this summer. Don’t miss out on all of these super cool digital workshops from Home Depot that your kids can watch at home!
