I am excited to share with you a Gaiam product review!
I was given the opportunity to try out some Gaiam products and I get to share with you what I thought about them, plus offer one lucky reader the chance to win a Gaiam Prize Pack. Included in the Prize Pack are:
The Calorie Blast Yoga DVD gives you a great workout! I tried it out on a Saturday morning after I wished I had gone to the gym, but just didn’t get out of the house. We were headed to a birthday party and I just wanted to get a quick workout in at home so this was perfect. This DVD was just released on March 5, 2013 so it’s new. There are 3 – 20 minute workouts on the DVD so if you only have 2o minutes, you can just pick your favorite or if you happen to have an hour you can do all 3. I just don’t like to quit in the middle of one workout, so I liked that they were split up into 20 minute sessions. The 3 sessions are: Ready to Sweat?, Strong Body Strong Mind, and Yoga Sculpt. The only drawback for me of the DVD was that I thought the instructor went a little fast and if you don’t know all the Yoga terms and how to do poses, you’ll find yourself constantly trying to see your TV to do it correctly (which is what I was doing). However, after some practice or if you are already deep into Yoga, I don’t think you’ll have any trouble following along.
Of course while I was doing the Calorie Blast Yoga workout I got to try out the new Gaiam Radiance Yoga Mat (3 mm). Two features of the mat that I love are that it’s Lightweight and durable and has a Textured non-slip surface for excellent traction. I don’t like lugging around a heavy or clunky mat and I really dislike when my mat is moving around on the floor beneath me, or I am slipping on it myself. Neither of those things happened and I was really enjoying this great mat. Plus, it’s cute too! I love the red color!
There is a matching bag to go with it, the Gaiam Radiance Yoga Mat Bag, which I also tried out. I loved that it matches my mat and it’s great that it can accommodate a yoga, fitness or Pilates mat. I also really liked the zipper pouch on the outside. You can easily slip your cell phone or car keys in there. The only downside to me, even thought it fits multiple size mats, I didn’t care for it for the 3mm yoga mat I had because there was so much extra space in the bag that I wasn’t using it just seemed awkward. However, if you have a yoga mat and a regular thicker fitness mat, it is a good option to carry whichever one you need rather than having 2 separate carrying bags.
I just got my bangs cut and I am sure you ladies have had the same problem I do with having bangs; they constantly are in your eyes if you are working out unless you have them pinned back. I was so excited to try the Gaiam Dual-Grip Headband. I had bought some headbands at Walmart several years ago and they just kept stretching out and weren’t really tight enough and would constantly slip back on my head while working out. This Dual-Grip Headband, is awesome. I love it! It honestly doesn’t slip around and I just love that! If you are looking for a good one, I’d recommend you to try it out! Add a little pizazz to your outfit with a fun color!
Also I tried out the Gaiam Thirsty Yoga Hand Towel. I love how soft the towel is (it’s microfiber) and the size is perfect (20 X 30). I thought it was a little big when I opened it, but realized I like it that size. I have been going to a class at my gym and sometimes we need to hold a towel in our hands as a resistance thing and this was perfect for that. Of course it’s great for it’s intended purpose too of wiping that sweat away. The only drawback to me is that the towel’s care instructions say to wash by itself and line dry the towel. I would rather throw it in with the rest of my towels, but it’s not a huge deal. It’s hypoallergenic, which I love and it does dry quickly – about half the time of a cotton towel.
Lastly, it’s always good to carry water with you when you exercise so I was excited about trying a Stainless Steel Water Bottle from Gaiam. I currently didn’t have a Stainless Steel Water Bottle. I love that it’s BPA-free, lightweight, reusable, recyclable and a good alternative to plastic. I honestly didn’t realize before I got it that it is a twist on cap that comes off and on. I thought it was a pop up or pull up tab and I could sip from that, but you actually have to unscrew the cap. I would have chosen a different bottle had I looked closer. So if you are looking for one like me, then you might choose a Gaiam Stainless Steel Water Bottle with a Sport Top instead. If you like the screw on lid, I think this is a great water bottle. There are a few color options. This water bottle is dishwasher safe which surprised me, but I was happy about. However, I could not get it in my dishwasher because it was too tall to stand up. I could have laid it down but that would have taken up too much room and I wasn’t sure it would actually get real clean that way.
If you are a Yoga lover, I’d definitely check out what Gaiam has to offer! And even if you’re not, they still have some great accessories! Especially that headband!
