Today I am sharing a review of the Nighty Night Owl. Plus, enter for a chance to win one of three I am giving away!
The new Nighty Night Owl is a cuddly sleep-inducing sound product. This plush owl has a smart sensor which responds when your baby makes noise. If your baby would awake in the middle of the night crying, the Nighty Night Owl – Smart Sensor responds to your baby by restarting its soothing soft sounds of nature or the reassuring sound of the mother’s heartbeat.
You can start the sound manually anytime with a choice of a 23-minute or a 45-minute timer option. This will be reactivated with your child’s noises once it turns off initially. The sounds to choose from include: Heartbeat, rain, ocean, and whale. There is also a volume control knob so you can adjust the volume accordingly and an option for low, medium or high sensitivity in order for the owl to turn on with your child’s cry.
The Nighty Night Owl might be a perfect companion for your baby getting a restful night of sleep, and you too! It also would be a really cute and soft lovey for your child.
I have a 2 year old and he immediately tried to get the sound box out of the owl and wanted to play with it. So for me personally, I would recommend this for a younger child that hasn’t figured out how to do that yet or it can be used for an older child that realizes the sound box is in there for a purpose if you want to get full usage out of the product. However, it can still be used without the sound box since it is held in place by a velcro strap on the back of the Owl. My older daughter is almost 5 and she likes the Nighty Night Owl because it’s really soft and like I mentioned earlier is a cute lovey.
I actually tried this out by turning on the timer for the 23-minute option, and leaving the Nighty Night Owl in my daughter’s room which was completely quiet. When I returned after 23 minutes, the sounds had turned off. I quietly picked up the Nighty Night Owl and made the noise of a cry, and the sound turned on again – this was at the highest level of sensitivity. I tried it again and changed the sensitivity to low and it did not turn on when I made the same crying noise. I also made a few quiet noises besides that of a cry and the owl did not turn on for me. After my experiment it seemed to work with a medium loudness cry, but not other noises.
There are two batteries included so you will need to replace those occasionally. Overall, the owl is really cute and soft. My kids liked the sound options too. As far as it working to keep your child sleeping better, that will likely depend on the individual child.
