Chili’s® Grill & Bar Spices Up Menu with Eight New ‘Fresh Mex’ Offerings
From Fresh Mex Bowls to Enchiladas and Southwest Pairings, guests’ senses will ignite for the flavor and the value.
A few weeks ago new, Tex-Mex inspired menu items aimed at appealing to both Chili’s enthusiasts as well as those guests looking for something different to satisfy their evolving tastebuds were introduced!
Chili’s new Fresh Mex Menu adds a variety of classic and relevant dishes reflective of the Southwest. One of the showcase dishes is Chili’s signature fajitas which is a compilation of Tex-Mex ingredients in a bowl.
Two new entrees featuring fresh, house-made ingredients blended together to bring forth the tastes of the Southwest in every bite are the Fresh Mex Bowls. These are served with marinated grilled chicken, but can also be customized to your liking with grilled shrimp or steak.
Chipotle Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl – marinated grilled chicken, house-made corn and black bean salsa, rice and chipotle pesto layered with cheddar cheese, house-made pico de gallo, fresh field greens, chopped cilantro, crispy tortilla strips, fresh sliced avocado and a drizzle of cumin-lime sour cream.
Margarita Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl – marinated grilled chicken, house-made corn and black bean salsa, rice and black beans topped with house-made pico de gallo, fresh field greens, chopped cilantro, crispy tortilla strips, fresh sliced avocado and a drizzle of margarita sauce.
During lunch or dinner, you can now create your own Southwest Pairing, choosing from two or three entrees to enjoy with rice and blacks beans starting at $8. These include new dishes like the Sour Cream Chicken Enchilada – filled with seasoned chicken and Monterey Jack cheese and topped with sour cream sauce, melted three-cheese blend, chopped cilantro, house-made corn and black bean salsa.
I was given the opportunity to try some of the new menu items from the Fresh Mex Menu. I chose to try the Margarita Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl and the Sour Cream Chicken Enchildas. Both were really good. The seasonings, spices, taste and presentation were fantastic. I have to be careful not to eat too spicy of food, because my taste buds prefer mild food, but the Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas were pretty mild to me. They had great flavor, I would definitely order them again.
The Margarita Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl was very spicy to me. However, I loved the ingredients that were put together in the bowl and they were all very fresh. I think the house made corn and black bean salsa was what gave the bowl a kick, but otherwise I loved it. I would order it again, but if you don’t care for spicy I’d ask for them to leave that house made salsa out, and if you love spicy, get it all!
There are many more new menu items to try and I’d recommend going in and trying some of them. We ordered dessert too and I have to say that the skillet chocolate chip cookie with ice cream is AWESOME if you want a sweet treat!
