Who doesn’t love a homemade holiday dessert? But holidays are already so busy and many Moms just don’t have the extra time it takes to make a homemade dessert even though we really want to!
By adding a few special touches to a few items you can buy at your local Walmart like Marie Callender’s pies, Reddi-wip and Swiss Miss you can make a dessert look and taste homemade without actually having to take the time and energy to start from scratch!
Your guests may think you spent hours in the kitchen while you really spent that extra time with your family which matters more than that homemade dessert anyway!
First you start with a pre-made Marie Callender’s Apple Pie and cook it in the oven – EASY!
Next, you can make individual cups of hot chocolate (or if you’re serving to a large group you may just want to make a big batch).
Just add a scoop of Vanilla ice cream to the hot chocolate in each cup and top with Reddi-wip and you have a beautiful drink to go with your Apple Pie!
The best part is that this drink tastes so good. With the mix of hot and cold, it’s a perfect treat to go with dessert! You get your ice cream with your beverage instead of having it with your pie which is a fun twist on traditional pie and ice cream!
I can’t wait to make this for my family again over the holidays because we love hot chocolate and I can’t think of a better dessert beverage to have! I’m adding the Marie Callender’s Apple pie, Reddi-wip and Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate to my Walmart grocery list right now as I’m planning my meals for our family holidays later this week!
For more inspiration, here is a way to use your leftover pie or start from the beginning with a brand new pie!
I love these desserts in the glass jars! They’re so cute and it’s something you can put together before everyone arrives and it’s already perfectly dished up!
