My Walmart in Greenville, NC is awful when it comes to coupons. The majority of the cashiers hassle us every single time we go. They will call managers over and 3-4 managers/cashiers will stand there pouring through my coupons to make sure I don’t have photocopies and all the serial numbers are different. Apparently they got burned pretty bad over the last year with fraudulent coupons, but it gets really ridiculous when I’ve got 50 coupons to use with a $400 grocery shopping trip. Every time we go we dread hitting the checkout line, because it’s so rare anymore that we don’t get hassled over our coupons. If I could shop elsewhere, I definitely would, but nowhere else is as cheap than Walmart, and with a family of 7 we need all the savings we can get, even if it means the scrutiny and embarrassment of coupon issues. I would love to try price-matching, but I can’t even imagine attempting that at my Walmart, and what the cashiers would put us through for that on top of coupons.
Aw Jennifer I am sorry I hate that, but I am glad that you are working so hard to save :)
Maybe we should all begin writing to Wal-Mart to suggest these things. Prices are going up there, and with customer service severly lacking I have begun doing a lot of my shopping elsewhere. I am sure they want all of our business! They get reimbursed for coupons, so it is not like they are loosing out. & Yes I think they should have to give “classes” to especially managers, but cashiers would be nice, about their coupon policies.
The Walmart in La Porte, IN, also has these problems. None of them have a clue about the Walmart policy. This includes some of the managers. I have, however, never experienced the managers being nasty but some of the clerks have been surly. The Walmart in Michigan City will sometimes ask for the ad in match ups even though it says you don’t have to bring the inserts. It sounds like this is a common problem in most Walmarts. Maybe Walmart should require all managers and assistant managers to read the policy, and ask if their are any question. When they are ready be given a test with several questions using different scenarios about their policy. It should be a requirement they pass the test before they can work as a manager in their store. All clerks should at least be given a printed Walmart policy and be able to ask any questions. With the Holiday Season already here it would help eliminate any customer’s (being the person with the coupons or the person or persons behind them) frustrations, annoyance and/or rage.
In the shop for free— the glade air freshner IS NOT free! The coupons are for glade PREMIUM…which are 2.50— not .98 cents! The REGULAR glade is .98 cents…
For those in NWA – Springdale Neighborhood Market on Sunset has the Oral-B floss for $0.73 (the coup is for $0.75)
I don’t mind the cashiers as much as I do the person behind me. One day, I am going to SCREAM…at least IIIIII am saving money!!!!!
Dose anybody that uses this site live in the Bentonville Bella Vista area?I would love to trade coupons. My email address is geiser64@gmail.com
I have alot of coupons I don’t use. Just email me and we will work something out.
I use to panic when I first started couponing because a coupon was going to expire…..then I remembered that most military bases overseas (not Iraq or Afghanistan) can use the expired Q’s SIX months past their expiration date!
If you google :
‘expired coupons for the military’ you can get the addresses….now you do have to feel that your coupons are going to waste!
Before reading this website, I thought I was the only one having problems with Walmart. It seems not only the cashiers don’t know their own coupon policy.BUT! the salary managers don’t know it as well! Several months ago I had a terrible experience with a cashier, she told me I could not use a coupon with a match price. I showed her their policy on coupons, she in turned showed it to a salary manager. This is where things were from bad to worse, the manager THREW the print out policy back at me and told me it was not from their website.( How ever it was.) She became extremely rude and would not listen the more she talked the louder she became. People in line could not be leave what was taking place. I left the store in tears. I called the district manager told him my experience he seemed concerned. Giving him the store location, and employee names. He said he would take care of it. That next day I was still upset, I called the district manager to do a follow up.Surprised to hear he was at that W.M. All I’m saying if any one out there has any problems, please don’t let it go, upper management needs to know how their employees are mistreating their customers. These so call salary managers are nothing but fill ins. Because they really don’t know their jobs or proper customer service.Maybe a anger management class would help . If I could shop any where else I would. There has been sooo many times, too many times I’ve had to pull out the store policy even after that incident. So Wal Mart shoppers be ware. and please stand your grounds. If any one out there has had this kind of experience let us know.
This has happeded several in the past month at my local Walmart. If I could I would shop somewhere else too.The cleark said they didn’t have to keep up with price match, most people wont go to the trouble to ask for them.I had to stand in line, with people watching while they questioned me about price match and my coupons. They think most people will let it go,which I do if there is a line and they are making an issue of it.
If there is a line and they make issue of it. I just walk away from all the items , make them put them all back don’t pay just walk out of the store. This puts the problem in their lap. That way maybe they treat the next person more like they should , coupons put money in the stores pocket so we should not be treated like criminals.
I’m always talking to the floor manager’s on clarification on my coupons and price matching from other stores. I do this because I don’t want to cause a big halt in my check out to check with her. When I do this everything runs a lot smother. It’s so true you have to pick the right cashiers that will work with you and build a re pore with them. My cashiers know me know and that I always will have a lot of coupons. They’re always happy to help me get my bill down to almost nothing as well as the customers behind me. I’ve even inspired some of the cashiers to get their coupons going and they get an additional 20% off for being an employee. They also like it when you tell them about the great deals. I live in Florida where we get help with doubling our coupons what so ever. Try another Walmart if its close for you or a new cashier and don’t let these cashiers get you down in getting your shopping for almost FREE!!!!!!
I went shopping yesterday at WM.I had all the comparison ads wrote down and in my binder so I could remember the price differences. After the cashier finished inging my order and taking my money she told me,”the next time you have stuff to price match you need to have the add or we won’t do it”.I nicely told her when the coupon policy says that I have to bring the ad with me I will.Needless to say she rolled her eyes at me and shook her head. I don’t know about other people that shop at WM In Northwest Arkansas (Bentonville inpaticular) I’m tired of them trying to change the policy everytime you turn around and treating people like dogs.If Sam Walton was alive this wouldn’t be happening. One more thing-The Mitchum deoderant (Advanced Control)was 1.97 saturday evening.Sunday when I went in to pick some up for my husband I found they had marked it up to 2.97.Go figure. It seems everytime there is a good coupon making a product free or under a doll they either pull it off the shelf or mark it up.
I have had major problems too at my local walmarts. Major attitudes from the cashiers. It’s so frustrating that if they are going to offer these price matching discounts and all the other incentives, then don’t act bothered when take advantage of them.
Christy, I agree!! I am so tired of the cashiers at Walmart being ugly to me. I am always polite when I go, I’ve had cashiers be polite and smiling until I pull my coupons out Then become ugly. As far a the deoderant that is no surprise. We had a Walmart in South Louisiana pull the cascade trial packs off the shelf after the coupon came out.
Ours is the total opposite. There is one cashier at my local Walmart (Katy, TX) in particular who asks everyone if they have coupons and explains why they should use them She gives tips to save more, including reminding about price matching and internet coupons!
Christy next time tell her she needs to watch the ads that Wal-Mart is advertising on tv because they are CLEARLY making the point that “no ad” is required.
Idid that and was told it would cost them too much money to look up all the other company ads and I had to bring the ad in.
I just have to say thank you .. Today I went to walmart and for the first time I was able to get $34.85 worth of product for $3.07 and in a different transation I was able to make .50 on 2 bags of carrots :)
No coupons for Shedd Countr Crock….
The uncle ben’s coupon reads $1 off of 2 boxes, not $1 off of 1 box. So how are they $.77 a box? Am I reading something incorrectly?
So Sorry, This coupon was listed wrong in the database.
