Did you hear? We have heard that the Dollar Tree Price Increase will take effect in 2025! You may have recalled back in 2021 they increased products from $1 to $1.25 and up; however, prices are expected to increase from $1.25 to $1.50, while some will rise to $1.75 each or even $10. I know on most items, it’s just as low as a quarter increase, but what do you think?
Dollar Tree Price Increase
They have a seasonal area called their Dollar Plus Section, where you will see an assortment of items from $3, $5, and up to $7. That includes Toys, Candy, Home Goods, Seasonal items, and more. All of the fall decor, small items were $1.50 at my store. Larger decor items were up to $10!
We have already seen that greeting cards, helium balloons, and select food items have already increased. So it will be interesting to see what else will increase this year. The new CEO has stated that the company is increasing some 300 items to $1.50 – $7.
What Does a Red Sticker at Dollar Tree Mean?
If you’ve been down the aisles of your local Dollar Tree recently and seen little red dots over most of the products, you’re not alone. You can find the stickers across multiple departments, and they indicate that a price increase is either already in place or coming soon.
Underneath some shelves, you’ll find a price strip that may indicate the new price, often $1.50 or $1.75. Because Dollar Tree is firmly a multi-priced retailer now, the store will have to be a lot clearer in indicating what costs what. I found myself having to check each item carefully when I was there because I refuse to pay $3 for something I can still get at Walmart for cheaper!
Several products now have the price printed on the packaging. More printed pricing seems likely to come after all the unmarked inventory (now with stickers) is sold and out of stores. For me, I felt like all new items were higher priced, and all older items that had been there since the beginning of summer still had the $1.25 price.
What are the prices at your store?!
