I often get questions about How to Save Money on Organic Foods. I know so many of us are concerned not only with saving money but also finding the balance and giving our families fresh and healthy foods. Here are a few tips on how you can save money on Organic Foods!
- Buy in Bulk. Most areas offer a local co-op that allows you to order organic products at a discount. If you don’t need large quantities of an item consider forming a co-op group of 3-4 friends who can split larger purchases in to more manageable quantities. You can use the Coop Directory Service Listing to find a co-op near you.
- Search Manufacturer Websites and Facebook Pages for Coupons. There are coupons for just about everything including organic foods and produce. Brands like Earthbound Farms frequently offer coupons for Organic Produce on their website and you can use sites like Mambo Sprouts to print online Gluten Free and Organic Coupons.
- Buy in Season and Try New Recipes. It’s important to shop based on what is on sale and in season, trying new recipes and creating meals based around the local fresh fruits and vegetables in your area is a great way to save on your weekly produce bill.
- Know how to Read Labels. It’s so important that you understand the differences in labels on Organic Products. Often items labeled as “All Natural” are not really any healthier than the regular versions of the item so it’s not worth paying extra for these items. It’s important to look for the USDA Certified Organic Label when you plan to spend more for an organic item this can help you avoid the marketing games that advertisers play to make you think a product is healthy and pay more.
- Shop on Amazon.com. I have found some great prices on Amazon on Organic Products by using the Subscribe and Save System. This can be canceled at any time and it’s another great way to Buy products in bulk without having to join a co-op.
