Mustard Cheese Sauce
This Mustard Cheese Sauce is the perfect dipping sauce for your Charcuterie Board!
Ingredients
- 1/4 Cup Butter
- 1/4 Cup All-Purpose Flour
- 2 Cups Whole Milk
- 2 Cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Grated
- 1 Tbsp Maille Dijon Mustard
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter.
- Whisk flour into the melted butter for about 2 or 3 minutes, making a roux. The roux will be slightly thick and lightly brown.
- Add milk to the roux and whisk constantly. Whisk for about 5 minutes, until it's thick, but can still be poured.
- Sprinkle the cheese over the sauce and whisk the mixture until the cheese is completely melted.
- Add mustard and mix together.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Allow the mustard cheese sauce to cool and then pour into a dish for serving.
