Cow Appreciation Day is BACK this year! After a long seven-year hiatus, Chick-fil-A has officially announced that its biggest annual freebie tradition—Cow Appreciation Day—is making its long-awaited comeback on Tuesday, July 14, 2026!
For one day only, anyone who visits a participating Chick-fil-A location nationwide dressed in cow-themed attire can score completely FREE food. Mark your calendars, get your craft supplies ready, and check out the official details below on how to claim your freebie!

7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to help celebrate Cow Appreciation Day®.
Every customer who dresses like a cow can receive one free entrée from the following list, subject to availability*:
- Breakfast: Chick-fil-A® Chicken Biscuit (Original) or 4-count Chick-n-Minis®.
- Lunch/Dinner: Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich (Original or Spicy); 8-count Nuggets (Original or Grilled); or 3-count Chick-n-Strips™.
- Kids: A select entrée and kids prize will be available for kids 12 and under, while supplies last. Check with your local Restaurant to confirm specific offerings.
Tips & Tricks for Cow Appreciation Day
- You Don’t Need a Full Costume: Don’t panic if you don’t own a full-body cow suit! In past years, Chick-fil-A has been incredibly generous. You can easily qualify for your free entrée simply by wearing a white t-shirt with black spots drawn on it with a Sharpie, or by wearing a cow-print hat or vest. As long as you are “showing your spots,” you get the freebie!
- Beat the Lunch Rush: Because this event has been gone for seven years, the crowds will be there! The absolute craziest lines will form between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM for lunch, and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for dinner. If you want a quick, zero-stress experience, head in between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM to grab a free breakfast entrée instead!
- Dine-In Only Rules: Keep in mind that this specific promotion is historically restricted to **in-restaurant ordering only**. You cannot claim the free item via the drive-thru lane, and it will not register as free if you place a standard mobile app pickup or delivery order. Pack up the family and prepare to head inside the lobby!
