Heart Shaped Candy is so fun for Valentine’s Day. This Valentine’s Day candy is the perfect way to treat your family this Valentine’s Day!
When I made my candy hearts, the fell off the parchment paper. Not sure what I did wrong. But they look pretty cute! They remind me of the candy buttons you can buy. That was a classic candy we ate growing.
Heart Shaped Candy
I also made a bigger heart printable that seemed to work fine. If you want you can freehand the hearts on the parchment paper. I find either route worked great.
Colors used: Americolor Soft Gel Paste Food Coloring
- 114 Deep Pink
- 119 Red Red
- 122 Violet
How To Make Colors For Candy Dots
I did all the coloring in one bowl. First I put in a little deep pink, colored it and scooped out a third into my bag. Then I added the red color and scooped out half into a bag. And lastly, I put in the violet coloring and put the remaining in the bag.
This is truly the lazy man’s way, but as you can see, by starting from light to dark colors, they all turned out gorgeous.
Is It Safe To Eat Egg Whites in Candy Hearts
If you use pasteurized eggs, it is safe. You will find that royal icing and many other desserts use pasteurized eggs in their recipes that don’t get baked. If you are not a fan of doing eggs, you could easily try and use water mixed with powdered sugar and it will dry up just the same. It won’t be as puffy is the only difference.

I found that when you pipe the hearts onto the paper it’s easiest to go in a v pattern, to create a heart shape.
Whip these up for a treat for after school, holiday parties and more. Or if it isn’t Valentine’s day then make circles or any other shape for a tasty candy treat to serve up.
