Day 6 – Freezer Cooking for the Win
I love saving money, but I also love things that simplify my life and help me keep my sanity! One of my favorite new strategies for extreme savings is Freezer Cooking. This is the process of preparing meals all at once on my own time schedule so they are ready to pull out of the freezer and bake when I’m short on time.
You can also save a lot of money by implementing Freezer Cooking Strategies, this is because you can buy in bulk without worrying about your ingredients going bad. You also save money by being able to eat at home on busy nights where you normally wouldn’t have had time to prepare a meal.
Here are a few Tips on Getting Started with Freezer Cooking:
• Start Small
Don’t dive into freezer cooking head first. Instead of planning a week or two of meals, try planning 3-4. This way, you aren’t quickly overwhelmed and discouraged. 3-4 is a manageable number.

• Make a Detailed Shopping List
Don’t wait until you are at the grocery store to try to remember what items you need, or pull together a list of ideas. I recommend printing off 3-4 recipes you want to make and then writing down all the ingredients on your shopping list, then cross off the items you already have and don’t need to buy. This way you will ensure that you don’t miss anything and you only have to make one trip to the store.
