Are you ever in a mood slump and looking for Ways to Brighten Your Day? These can also be called a Pick-Me-Up or a Boost of Energy!
Get Some Fresh Air
Many Psychologists agree that your energy levels increase just by spending time outdoors. If you get a 15 minute break at work, talk a walk outside or just go sit and enjoy the outdoors. Do you have a favorite smell you only find outdoors? Mine is freshly mowed grass after a good rain. This is just one fresh smell that’s hard to duplicate even with a good candle!
Plan Lunch With a Friend
If you’re ever feeling like you haven’t had time to connect with friends, make a call and go to lunch with one of your friends. Even one hour will be sure to raise your spirits and help you reconnect with someone you care about. Try to think of a couple of things you’ve been wanting to visit with your friend about before you meet up and you’ll feel like that hour was more like two or three.
Exercise
Yes you expel energy in order to exercise, but you’ll actually have more energy for your day after a great workout! You’ll feel so much better and your body will become stronger the more you exercise. You’re not only exercising your body, but also helping with mental health as well.

Turn On Your Favorite Music
Music is one of those things that can change your attitude very quickly and lift your spirits. Finding the right type of music for what you are doing can be so helpful to give you a boost of energy. Pandora is a great source for all kinds of music.
Go to the Spa
Plan a manicure, pedicure, facial, or massage! Sometimes you may want to go alone and just sit and relax in the massage chair while getting a pedicure or read a good book. Other times it’s fun to go with a friend so you can visit and catch up. It just depends on what mood you’re in! But either way you’ll feel great after any kind of spa treatment!
Take a Nap
Some people can catnap and get a burst of energy, if this is you go for it! That short amount of sleep can help you get in a couple of extra hours later in the day!
Watch Your Favorite TV Show
One form of relaxation can be just sitting down and turning your mind off for a little bit. My husband says this is his best form of relaxing and taking a break from all of his work pressures. If you need this time like he does and it refreshes you, then take 30 minutes and escape into your show.
Read a Good Book
Do you love to read? Once you start a book do you have trouble putting it down? Reading in little increments of free time during the day can give you those little glimpses of rest and can quickly give you a little pick-me-up in your day.
Call a Sitter and Go Out to Dinner
If you have kids, one of the best ways to get rejuvenated can be a date with your spouse or going out with friends. Just a few hours can recharge you and get you prepped for your parental role at home. A good break goes a long way for many people and allows them to have more fun and energy when they go back into that role again!
