Summer is supposed to be a fun time for kids. As an adult, there’s a lot of pressure to deliver fun to kids on a budget. Most communities have splash parks that are free for kids. This is a great FREE option for the kids this summer. You don’t have to limit this to just one day, though, you can go several times.
3. Have a Homemade Water Day.
here is probably nothing more fun or more free than having a water day with your kids. This is the best way to have fun because there is so much you can do. Set up a sprinkler, activate a water slide, or make your own water park. Every parent can agree that water is a fun way to have a free day at home and the kids will love it.
4. Sports Day at the Park.
You can choose the park or if you have a big back yard, that will work as well. Have a sports themed day! You and your crew can play various sports. Play a round of baseball, soccer, or even football. You can do this in the evening time, so it’s not so hot.

If you’re mom enough, make a mud pit for your kiddos this summer. All that is required is water and dirt. Grab some old trucks and play shovels and your kids will be busy for hours.

Kids love challenges and keeping busy. Obstacle courses are the best way to keep your kids busy for free this summer. Use your imagination to create an obstacle course they won’t soon forget or get done with too soon.

Check out your town’s local website to see if any free concerts are offered this summer. Your kids will love the exposure to the finer things in life, like music!

Not all kids love spending all day outside. If you have kids like that then consider creating a reading nook. You can do this outside or inside. If you complete it outdoors, set up the reading nook in a tent. The kids will love this idea.
14. Make Homemade Popsicles.
On a hot day, there’s nothing tastier than a yummy popsicle to cool you down. Make homemade popsicles with your kids. This is such a fun and free activity! You can make it an all activity by making and freezing a bunch for the next month or so.
15. Head to an Outdoor Festival.
It’s one thing to create fun for your kids, but you and your kids can also have a summer fun day by attending a local outdoor festival. If you’re lucky enough, you may be able to catch one that’s completely free. You can also keep an eye out for local events in your area that are just for kids!
