Is your budget looking a little rough these days? Maybe you’re trying everything in you to make your budget work, but you cannot figure out what is dragging it down. There may be things in your budget that are busting it without you even knowing it.
1.Eating out.
This one totally kills us every month. It’s so much easier to just eat out, no cleaning up. I know that our budget is so easily busted by eating out so planning ahead and using things like Freezer Meal Plans has really helped me in this area.
2. Not planning ahead.
Again, not planning ahead can totally bust our budget. If I meal plan, this helps us so very much. Also, planning for what we will be doing financially, also helps us stay on budget. Not planning= major budgeting fail.
3. Monthly premiums.
There is one thing in our budget that kicks my butt every time. When I have something automatically taken out of my account, I always forget! It never fails.
4. Buying too much stuff.
I have a bad habit of buying way too much stuff. I overbuy clothing for the kids, which always results in busting our budget.
5. Stuff breaking down.
There is at least one thing a month that breaks down and this always busts our budget. I’m trying to get better at planning ahead as much as possible.
6. Not having an emergency fund.
This is a must-have if you own a house or for just life in general. If you’re trying to avoid credit cards at all costs, then you need to have an emergency fund in place.

7. Not using cash.
I try to use cash for everything in our budget. If I don’t use budget, then it’s so easy to overspend when using a debit card. Cash is always king when it comes to a budget.
8. Overspending.
Budgets always go bad when you overspend. This is even true for the grocery store. If you overspend, you’re going to make your budget split at the seams.
9. Under planning.
If you don’t plan for your month financially, you are going to bust your budget. You may have an unexpected bill pop up, all things to under planning, you may ruin your budget trying to pay for it.
10. Spending above your means.
You make a certain amount per month, you cannot spend more than you make. This action will really bust your budget at the seams.
11. Not taking care of items.
In our household, it’s easy to bust a budget when things are not taken care of correctly. If the kids don’t take care of their shoes, clothing, or toys, it can get expensive to replace. Which is why we are super selective about what we purchase.
12. Not using up food.
One thing that bothers me is when we don’t use up food. Whether it’s leftovers or produce, I hate wasting food. Food waste could be one of your biggest budget busters.
13. Cable and internet bills.
You may want to take a closer look at that cable and Internet bill, it may be costing you a lot more money a month that you thought. I highly recommend Sling TV, they let you stream the major channels like ABC, CNN, ESPN and more for as low as $20 per month!

14. Your expensive taste in clothing.
Your bag says Coach, but your wallet says broke. Everyday items like clothing could be busting your budget. Stay within your means. If you can afford it, then more power to you!
15. Not doing things yourself.
Paying someone to do other things for you is a convenience, try DIY from time to time to save a bit of money within your budget walls.
