One of the things I am always looking for is a simple solution to Dinner time. If I can find something that I can put in the Crock Pot in the morning or something that goes in the oven at Lunch Time and is ready at Dinner Time then I am one happy momma!
One of my favorite things to do is cook up Baked Chicken in the afternoon, Last week the Tyson Split Chicken Breast were on sale for $0.89 a lb. at Aldi’s. I price matched this deal at Walmart so I had a lot of chicken to cook up.
This is really simple and easy but to create Baked Chicken you can use the following recipe:
Baked Chicken:
Use Raw (Frozen or Thawed) Chicken Breast
Coat the Pan with Olive Oil
Sprinkle Chicken Breast with Salt, Pepper, and Garlic Powder
Cover with Foil
Cook at 300 Degrees for 3-4 Hours
Once these are cooked all the way through I pull them out of the oven and let them cool. When I’m ready for Dinner this can be used in Chicken Alfredo, Stir Fry, Barbecue Chicken Sandwiches and so much more! Once the Chicken is Pre-Cooked it makes fixing dinner a snap! Ohhh One other recipe idea, try making Taco Soup and substituting Chicken for Beef. That makes a great meal for Lunch or a great idea for using the leftover chicken.
If you have a Quick & Easy Tip or Recipe be sure to leave a comment and share it below! I’m always looking for new ideas to try and I’m really trying hard to share more simple family recipe ideas with you this year.
thanks for the info! i have been recently looking for kid-friendly and easy-to-make meals. here is one i came across on the kraft website that i particularly like (i don’t use the parmesan cheese on it, but i’m sure it’s quite good with it as well). http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/one-pan-chicken-potato-bake-52564.aspx Just chicken, potatoes, and italian dressing!! so easy and so good!
I work at an elementary school so I find it easy to put chicken (whole or breasts) in the crockpot with an onion soup packet and 5-6 cups of water so I have cooked chicken (and broth if needed) to do whatever with when I get home.
This sounds so great, so simple and yummy! I like to shred cooked chicken, add garlic and onion powder, and top with cheddar cheese for quick and delicious sandwiches. We have ours on french bread with chips on the side, so good!
