Ingredients You Need for These Chocolate Kiss Cookies
Peanut Butter Cookie Dough – You will use peanut butter cookie dough for this recipe. Buy it in the refrigerator section at your local grocery store.
Sugar – The sugar adds a nice light sugar coating on the cookies that helps to elevate all the flavors of the chocolate and peanut butter.
Dove Kisses – In the candy aisle during Valentine’s Day season you can find heart shaped Dove chocolates. These are what I used for the center of the cookies.
Can I Use Homemade Peanut Butter Cookie Dough?
Yes, if you are open to it, go right ahead and make a batch of your favorite peanut butter cookie dough. I use my 3 ingredient cookie dough at times, but when in a pinch I reach for store bought!
How to Coat Cookie Dough In Sugar?
So you will take your cookie dough and roll it into a ball. The roll the peanut butter cookie dough in granulated sugar. This is going to create a light coating on the cookie so when it bakes up it has a little crunch.
This is of course optional. I find the sugar is a nice texture to the cookies.
Alternative To Dove Heart Chocolates?
Depending on where you shop or the time of the year, you might find it hard to find the chocolates. You can use any Dove chocolate, Hershey Kisses, etc.
Feel free to use any chocolate you want. You could even use a mini peanut butter cup.
How To Store Cookies?
You can store your cookies in an airtight container on the counter at room temperature. Just allow the cookies to fully cool then transfer them into a single layer in a container. If you need to stack the cookies do a layer of wax paper between each layer of cookies.
Can You Freeze Cookies?
Go right ahead and freeze these cookies if you would like. Allow them to fully cool and then place in a single row in an airtight container. Do wax paper the same way as storing on counter if you stack. Otherwise the cookies can stick.
Freeze for 3-4 months, and thaw on the counter for an hour or so and enjoy.
