It’s Officially SUMMER!!! We are so excited because we have been counting down the days to summer and the last day of school! There’s nothing I love more than longer nights, cooking out, and hitting the beach!
Last year I shared my Personal Vacation Checklist with you guys and I wanted to post a Free Printable Version for you all to download + share some of my favorite Items that I always take with us when we hit the beach!
Click Here to download the FREE Printable Vacation Checklist!
To use the Vacation Checklist, I just write in every family members name across the top. On the left-hand column I write in the number of each item I need. For example, if it’s a 5-day trip and I need 5 pairs of shorts and 5 shirts I add that number in the blank before I start packing. Next, I go down the list and check off each box as I’m packing for each kid so that I make sure I don’t miss anything! If I don’t need that specific item for this trip or the person in that column, I just draw a line through the box. This makes it really easy to see what you’ve packed and what you still need to pack!
In addition to the Vacation Checklist I also wanted to share with you some of my FAVORITE Items to bring with me on a summer vacation. We are planning a beach trip now, so here are a few of my Must-Have Items!
1.) Omeprazole Orally Disintegrating Tablets (ODT)
Did you know that summer is the most common season for heartburn? In a recent Kelton/Perrigo Company plc, “Prevent the Summer Burn” Survey: March 2018 42 percent of people categorized heartburn as the season they experience heartburn the most. If you suffer from frequent heartburn like I do then you know vacations mean lots of eating out, grilling out on the deck by the ocean and spicy food! All that means my heartburn tends to flare more on vacation so I like to be prepared with Omeprazole ODT.’
I know for me personally we love to go out and do activities after dinner and when my heartburn flares up I don’t always feel like being active. The Omeprazole ODT helps me be pro-active so I can enjoy the summer evenings with my family.
The 14-day regimen is the perfect pro-active approach to treating the symptoms of frequent heartburn and letting me spend more time with my family. I also love these strawberry flavored Orally Disintegrating Tablets because they are perfect for taking on the go since they melt in your mouth with no water needed, I can just take them along with me to dinner!
You can find Omeprazole ODT at any National Retailer, Drug Store or Local Food Retailer and I always look for the Store Brand to save money :) At Dollar General it was almost 40% Cheaper to buy the store brand version which means more money to spend on vacation!
Use Omeprazole ODT as directed for 14 days to treat frequent heartburn (occurring 2 or more days a week). May take 1-4 days for full effect and not intended for immediate relief.
2.) Insulated Cooler Bag
Hot summer days call for cool drinks! I can’t live without my cooler bag when we hit the beach. I like to freeze water bottles, juice pouches and more, then they stay cool and icy in the cooler bag without the mess or hassle of a large cooler!
3.) Mesh Beach Tote Bag
When you hit the beach you know there is going to be sand everywhere! These Mesh Bags are great because they don’t hold the sand as much as a traditional bag plus they fold up really compact in your suitcase and don’t take up a lot of space.
4.) Cheap Sunglasses and Hats
Sand can easily scratch your sunglasses so I always like to take cheaper versions with me when we are headed to the beach. I also like to pack sunglasses and hats for my kids when I know we will be spending long amounts of time in the sun. You can find inexpensive sunglasses and hats at Dollar General, TJMaxx, Walmart, Target & More!
5.) Baby Powder
Did you know that Baby Powder can help to easily remove sand, this is one of those tricks that you can’t live without if you’re a mom of little ones. My youngest hates the sand, so this has been a huge lifesaver for us!
6.) Waterproof Phone Case
I can’t stand to go without my phone, but Sand and Water and Cell Phones don’t mix very well, so I always travel with a Waterproof Phone Case! You can get these at stores like Dollar General or on Amazon and they are a total lifesaver!
7.) Paper Plates & Household Essentials!
It’s not vacation if you are doing dishes the entire time! So, I always stock up on paper plates when I find them on sale and then I bring along all the essentials like toilet paper, paper towels and more! That way I can buy them ahead of time on sale and I’m not paying full price at a grocery store near the resort.
8.) Puzzles and Games
We almost always have at least 1 rainy day or afternoon when we are at the beach! There’s nothing better than lounging around inside just spending time together as a family. I like to have puzzles and card games ready to pull out on those rainy days!
9.) Microfiber Beach Towel
Nothing says beach like the sand! And while I love the sand, I hate having it all over everything. A microfiber beach towel is perfect for the beach because it doesn’t hold sand and you can easily shake it out and go sand free!
10.) Pop-Up Laundry Hampers
These things are a LIFE SAVER! There’s nothing I hate more than having dirty clothes laying around everywhere! You can get pop-up laundry hampers at the Dollar Store for only a few bucks and they fold up in your suitcase for easy packing. Then just pop them open and place one in your room or outside the bathroom so your kids aren’t tempted to leave their dirty clothes laying around everywhere!
A beach vacation can be tons of fun, and also a lot of work! These simple tips and items are some of my favorite items to pack!
