Free Virtual Museum Tours For Kids
With everyone trying to do their part, and social distance from one another, we will have to find unique ways to experience all that is great about our world! Technology certainly helps us to do that! Google Arts & Culture has partnered with over 500 museums and galleries from around the world to bring us virtual tours and online exhibits! This includes some of the most famous artwork from around the world. You can also watch New York’s Metropolitan Opera online every night at 7:30 pm starting today (3/16) through March 22!
Here are some of the museums that you can virtually walkthrough:
Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam
The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam houses the largest collection of artworks by Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) in the world. The permanent collection includes over 200 paintings by Vincent van Gogh, 500 drawings and more than 750 letters. The museum also presents exhibitions on various subjects from 19th-century art history.
Guggenheim Museum, New York
With their famous spiral staircase, your virtual tour will allow you to see art from Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary eras. Check out Google’s Street View for amazing artwork from your couch!
British Museum, London
