I am always on the lookout for fun Summer Activities for Kids and my kids have been begging to make Homemade Sidewalk Chalk Paint again so I thought this time I would share this simple recipe with you!
I picked up these simple Plastic Bottles at Walmart for just $0.98 each! They are in the Utensil section and I think they are made for Ketchup and Mustard but they work perfect for this and they wash well so you can re-use them.
To make Chalk Paint you only need a few things, You need Corn Starch, Food Coloring and Hot Water.I used a funnel and added the Cornstarch and hot water to my bottles first, then I added the food coloring, placed the lids on tight and let my kids help me shake until everything was well mixed!
My Son had a BLAST doing Chalk Paint on the driveway, he is almost 2 and this kept him busy for a very long time. In fact I probably should have made twice as much because he loved it so much.
I used these AmeriColor Electric Food Coloring Gels to get the bright colors! These are my favorite Food Colorings so I had them on hand, I didn’t go buy anything special but if you love to bake these are AMAZING! You can get them on Amazon Here.
And that’s about it. It’s really simple to make your own Sidewalk Chalk Paint and it really washes off with the rain so it’s a fun activity the kids can do over and over again!

The sidewalk chalk paint did not work. I had it tried 4 different times by my co workers and each to.e it turned out too watery. Did u mean 1 cup Cornstarch, instead of water?
Yes, try to use more cornstarch. The additional 1/2 cup should help so yes try it again with 1 cup. Sorry about that!
