Makeup remover is an important part of your daily routine if you wear eye makeup, especially mascara. There are some pretty easy alternatives to the store bought removers that can be made from things you may already have in your home.
Here are some options for DIY Makeup Remover:
Vaseline – Just rub some vaseline over your eyes and rub gently. Then wipe off with a cotton ball. Not only will it remove your eye makeup, it is said to make your eye lashes grow!
Olive Oil and Baby Shampoo – Mix about a 1/2 tablespoon of baby shampoo and 1/4 teaspoon of olive or coconut oil together in a small container. Add about a cup of water. Shake well before each use. Apply with a cotton ball.
Baby Shampoo – I have also heard of people who just use baby shampoo to remover eye makeup. Be sure to grab the no tears variety, though I think most baby shampoos are made this way.
If you have these items around you house, you can try each one to see which one works best for you. Everyone has their own preference.
Target still has the printable coupon for $2 off of 2 baby care products, so you can get the Up and Up brand petroleum jelly for $.24 each! I’ve been using that on a Q-tip and wish I would have discovered it sooner, saves so much money and it’s gentle on my eyes and skin.

Johnson’s no tears baby shampoo is amazing…even with the waterproof eye make ups!
I use a really good lotion, usually Jergens with Shea Butter. WORKS WONDERS! Most days I only use it on my eyes, but sometimes all over if my face is feeling dry or if I’ve been in the sun all day.
Baby oil does the trick to! :)
