Today we are going to cover How to Make Money with Rebates. I find that so many people skip over rebates or don’t pay much attention to them at all because they don’t understand the benefits of rebates.
There are 2 Kinds of Rebates. Specific Amount Rebates (i.e. $5 back by mail) and Try Me Free Rebates (Good for the “Purchase Price”)
Typically Try Me Free rebates are for the Purchase Price of an Item. This is the price that the item rings up for, if you use a coupon the coupon amount is typically not taken off the rebate amount. That means you can quickly turn Try Me Free Rebates into a Money Maker!
We have seen several of these Rebate Deals recently so I wanted to point out to you several examples:
$5 Allegra Try Me Free Rebate (Details Here)

That means you paid Under $4 and got $5 by rebate! That’s one of the advantages of rebates, if you can combine, coupons, sales and drugstore deals with the mail in rebates you can get some awesome deals.

Because Target had a promotion at the same time the rebate was valid the savings were huge! This deal gave us 4 bottles of Children’s Advil for FREE after the rebate!
Endust Try Me Free Rebate (Details Here)
Source: Found Attached to Products In Stores
This is going on right now, I have seen these rebates at both Target and Walmart right now, You can combine the coupon and the rebate form to get FREE Products!
Buy 1, Endust Cleaner, $3.33
Use 1, $1/1 Endust Coupon
Pay $2.33 and Submit for Try Me Free Rebate of $3.33
FREE + $1 Money Maker!
This is where the Purchase Price of the Product Matters, when you are completing a rebate form always list the price printed next to the item on the receipt. Coupons typically are not counted in the purchase price.
Here are a few Tips you want to keep in mind:
- Always check the fine print, some rebates are less any coupons used on the products so read the fine print!
- Keep an eye on the Purchase By Date and the Postmark by date, these are 2 different dates!
- Stack rebates with gift card deals, register rewards, coupons and more to maximize the savings.
- Print Rebates or Cut out Rebates when you find them, often the best deals come along a few weeks after the rebates are released, before the rebate expires.
- Most rebates are a limit of 1 per household so you can’t do the same rebate more than once unless this is specified in the fine print.
- You need a unique original receipt for each rebate so don’t copy the receipt or buy multiple rebates on the same transaction.
