I’m always looking for ways to make things that I can’t get for free or really cheap. One of the things I love to make is Homemade makeup brush cleaner. This can be rather expensive in stores and I don’t really like Just Soap & Water because it leaves my brushes hard when they dry so I like combining Hand Soap with Vinegar, this helps the brushes come out clean and ready to use again and again!
Homemade Makeup Brush Cleaner
1 tsp Hand Soap *You don’t need much
1/4 Cup White Vinegar
1 Cup Water
Combine in a Large Jar and Swirl the Dirty Brushes to get all the Makeup Out, Then Lay on a Towel to dry.
If you’ve been meaning to clean your brushes give this one a try! It’s super simple and I like the addition of the vinegar in place of just the Soap and Water!
Another cheap solution you can make to clean and sanitize brushes straight after using them is: mix 1tbsp alcohol, 1/3 cup water, and a few drops of lavender oil in a small spray bottle. ( I reuse the bottle of brush cleaner from sephora.)
Spray the brushes a few times, then “paint” them on a clean, dry towel.
If you do this after every use, you won’t need to do a “deep” clean. To my knowledge it won’t dry out your brushes, but I use synthetics, not natural hair.
