I get a lot of questions about How to Shop For Free at Walmart Stores because people often think they can’t save money at Walmart! Well, you’ve come to the right place, because I actually started using coupons at Walmart and that was the first place I learned to save money! When I first started couponing I didn’t have very many stores to choose from. I am a big believer that you can learn how to save money at Walmart or any store for that matter, you just have to start slow, start small and be consistent!
This week I got over $35 worth of Products for FREE at Walmart! I actually only used about 4 coupons, so it really was a simple and easy shopping trip and I didn’t have anything planned out before I got there, so I’m going to share with you my best tips for how to get Free Stuff at Walmart!

How to Shop For Free at Walmart
Tip #1 – Download the Ibotta App Here and Create an Account
This is super important because Ibotta is my FAVORITE App for earning Cash Back at Walmart + Right now New Members can get a FREE $10 Bonus when you redeem just 1 rebate in the first 14 days! Seriously, it’s so simple and that’s like FREE Money!
Tip #2 – Search Ibotta by Category as you shop
This is another great tip! I like to sort the Ibotta offers available first by the store I’m shopping in, so I select Walmart, then I sort by the department, so when I’m in the pharmacy section, I’m only viewing Pharmacy offers. This is really important, because there are hundreds of offers! Narrowing down your search results to only 8-10 lets you see the best offers in that department, so you can quickly find the items and see if they are a good deal!
Tip#3 – Look for the Lowest Price Items or Smallest Size Items!
A great example of this is the B+B items I grabbed during this shopping trip, this was a $2 rebate and there were 2 sizes, the offer was for any size. So if I purchased the $2.48 item I would only be paying $0.48, The larger item was $3.48, which would make my price after rebate $1.48.
Most Ibotta Rebates will tell you the size limits, or say Any Brand, Any Size, etc. If there is no size restriction often the smallest size will be a higher % of savings.
Tip #4 – Watch for Bonus Offers!
This is the MAGIC of Ibotta! They give you incredible offers, I mentioned the $10 bonus when you Sign Up for Ibotta Here, then redeem your first offer in the first 14 days. Well I had a May Bonus for a $10 Bonus when I redeemed 14 offers. So I made sure that I had at least 14 offers so that I could get the $10 Bonus!
You can also get Bonuses for buying multiple items from the same brand. Remember those B+B Pain Relievers, well I grabbed 2 different ones and got a $1 Bonus for buying 2, that means the items that were $0.48 after the cash back, were actually FREE after the Bonus offer!!! Plus they counted towards my Redeem 14 offers, get a $10 Bonus!
Tip #5 – Redeem Any Item Rebates!
I actually love this one! If you have a great rebate for cereal, and an Any Item Rebate on Cereal, you can get credit for both offers!!! I always add all of The Any Item Rebates to my account, then the Ibotta App will pick up any I qualify for automatically!
My Walmart Shopping Trip Totals:
Total I had 18 items in my shopping trip, I paid $30.75 + Tax out of pocket and I earned $$26.15 in Cash Back from Ibotta + $11.50 in Bonuses! So I actually got $37.65 in Cash Back in my Ibotta Account which was MORE than I paid even after you factor in tax, so I got everything shown below for FREE + I actually got paid to take all this home!!!
Total Cost of All Items before coupons = $37.25
-$6.50 in Coupons
-$26.15 worth of Ibotta Offers Redeemed
-$11.50 in Ibotta Bonuses
= FREE + $6.90 Money Maker after coupons and Ibotta offers & bonuses!!!
One thing I wanted to point out, I often hear people say they can’t save money because they can’t use coupons for one reason or another! Well, even if I hadn’t used any coupons at all I still would have gotten all of this for FREE! Just by redeeming the Ibotta offers and following the tips I outlined above!
So what are you waiting for??? Click This Link and Join Ibotta Today!!! Remember you get a FREE $10 Bonus when you redeem your first offer in the first 14 days so it’s a great time to get started!
How to Redeem Ibotta Offers at Walmart
Redeeming Ibotta Offers at Walmart is really easy, once you have unlocked each offer you can just simply click the Redeem Receipt button at the bottom of the app, then scan the QR code at the bottom of the Walmart Receipt. Walmart no longer requires you to scan each item or to take photos of the entire receipt which makes this SUPER EASY! I do recommend you check to make sure all your items are picked up, if they aren’t you can manually add them, but the majority of the time it gets everything on the first try!

If anyone has those Rubbermaid coupons they’re not going to use, I would love one!
Other good ibotta deals at Walmart are: Clio greek yogurt bars (so yum!) for $1.00 – .25ibotta, $3 Fresh Cravings Pico de Gallo – 1.50ibotta and I THINK the Amp Energy drink was 1.49 (maybe less)-.75ibotta.
Great strategy! I use ibotta regularly, but this simplifies things alot more (funny how just looking at categories while shopping will make using the app so much easier). And why my little brain didn’t think of that!? LOL
