This Genius Mini Sandwich Skewer Lunch Box Hack is one of those crazy simple things that makes me say, “Um, why have I not done this before?!” Like, it’s so obvious, but the way to go about putting it together is the genius part! It’s pretty self explanatory, but I have directions below which will make each side come out neatly.
How to Do the Mini Sandwich Skewer Lunch Box Hack
Ok, this is pretty self explanatory, but there are a few tips and tricks to make them come out perfectly!
What You Need to Make Them
- Bread
- Cheese
- Meat
- Sandwich Toppings – Onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, mayo, mustard, etc.
- Long Toothpicks
Step by Step Tips for Sandwich Skewers (Plus the important time-saving hack!)
Ok, first you’re going to make a double-decker sandwich. Make sure the sandwich fillings overlap over the crust. That way, you’ll be able to see all the layers when you cut them.
Next, cut off the crusts. After that. place four toothpicks into the sandwich, holding it all in place. This is the hack! When you cut them, the skewers are already made. No need to assemble the skewers with individual ingredients. It’s such a timesaver and the edges come out so neatly!
Lastly, you’re going to cut the sandwich into fourths, and the toothpicks are going to hold it together while you do so. Depending on how hungry your kids usually are, this could serve two, since it’s a double-decker.
Honestly, these would be perfect for a gameday appetizer, too. You could make any sandwich.
I just LOVE time-saving hacks like this, or ideas which make me think “Wow, that’s a great idea!” So simple, but something I’ll actually use from now on. Besides, my kids are way more likely to eat cute sandwich skewers than a regular old sandwich anyway. Ha!
