I’ve been wanting to rejoin Weight Watchers to lose some of the weight I’ve gained, and I’ve been waiting for this promotion to roll around. Through 2/28, the $20 enrollment fee will be waived, and you can join Weight Watchers Freestyle for FREE + You can save 30% off your First 3 Months when you purchase a Subscription Plan!
That means when you join for 3 months you will save $20 because the Starter Fee is FREE Right now + You’ll also get an Additional 30% off your first 3 months, that’s like paying just $3.22 per week!

The new Weight Watchers Freestyle program is really neat and one of the reasons I’m wanting to rejoin now. They’ve revamped their SmartPoints system, and now there are over 200 foods that have zero points, including chicken, fish, eggs, corn, beans. The less I have to measure and count, the better! And, you can roll over up to 4 points per week to the following week.

How to do Weight Watchers Freestyle on a Budget
Whether you have a few pounds to lose, or many, Weight Watchers Freestyle Program is a great option for everyone. Read more on how to do Weight Watchers Freestyle on a budget.
Sign up for Weight Watchers online.
Weight Watchers has many options. You can sign up for an online membership only, an online membership plus coaching, or even an online membership plus weekly meetings. While some folks truly need the accountability that in person meetings provide, the most frugal option is to sign up for online only first, while using other free tools available to you (like free Facebook groups).
The online option still provides you with the tools you need to be successful, but if for some reason you feel like you need in-person meetings to lose the most weight, that’s an option, too.
Use the free tools you’re provided.
The Weight Watchers Mobile app is free if you’re a Weight Watchers member. Download it on your iPhone or Android from the App/Play store. Use the app to track everything you put into your mouth (every bite!), especially during the first few weeks. As you get used to the program, some choose to stop tracking Zero Point foods. I like tracking them because if I don’t have a big loss that week, I can look back at everything I’ve eaten and figure out why. Chances are, I wasn’t drinking enough water or I was eating too many Zero Point foods, like fruit.
The app allows you to track your progress on the go, without ever needing to log into Weight Watchers on the computer (unless you want to!). There is a recipe builder, and you can browse restaurants for healthy food options. One of my favorite features is that you can connect with other Weight Watchers members (just click on “connect” to be taken to the feed). Meeting like-minded friends who can encourage you on your weight loss journey is important.
I like to take screenshots and post them in the weight loss groups I’m in, for encouragement and motivation. Sharing weight loss photos and screenshots of your daily points tracking, those are both great ways to help you stay on track. I know if I am going to have to show the “world” what I have eaten today, I’m going to be a little more conscious of the decisions I make.
Drink lots of water.
Water is the best drink of choice for many reasons: it keeps you hydrated, it’s ‘free’, and it speeds weight loss up dramatically. Avoid sugary drinks like soda and Gatorade, especially while you’re trying to lose weights. Those points really add up: a Gatorade is 5 points, and a 12 ounce can of Dr. Pepper is 10 points!
Shop in season.
Just like with meal planning and regular grocery shopping on a budget, Weight Watchers shopping on a budget means shopping in season for produce. There are so many ways to save money on healthy foods – yes, even if you’re shopping at Whole Foods. Price match when possible, and always check the weekly ads. We always go through tons of produce, so shopping around for the best price is worth it for our family. If blackberries are on sale, stock up and freeze them for smoothies. The same goes with any other foods that are easy to freeze, like avocados which can be very expensive when not in season.
Remember, with Freestyle, you get over 200 zero point foods to make up for the dip in Daily Points, including fruits and vegetables.
Use Coupons + Discounts
Watch my blog for coupons and definitely subscribe to the Weight Watchers magazine! It goes on sale for less than $1 per issue. You can use the coupon code PASSION4SAVINGS to save 20% right now!
Clip coupons (yes, even for organic food), and shop around at different stores to make sure you’re getting the best price.
Bargain shop.
Use common sense when bargain shopping: check for sales, shop around from store to store with different ads, and make a list before you head to the store. I’ve also found that making a meal plan helps me stay on budget at the grocery store!
