Let your kids help you make this Resurrection Cinnamon Rolls Recipe for a fun “day before Easter activity”! Your kids can help you “Roll” Up these Cinnamon Rolls around Marshmallows, Allow the Cinnamon Rolls to rise in the fridge over night, then about 45 min after you remove them from the fridge in the morning.
Once you Bake the cinnamon rolls the center will be empty reminding you that the Grave was Empty on Easter Morning! HE IS RISEN!
Resurrection Cinnamon Rolls Recipe
Cook time: 20 Min Prep time: 2 Hr 20 Min Serves: 12
Yeast Dough Ingredients:
1/2 c milk
1/2 c sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt (can use less)
1/4 c butter, melted
1/2 c warm water (105-115 degrees)
2 pkg Fleischmann’s active dry yeast
2 large eggs, beaten
4 1/2 c all-purpose flour, may need a bit more or less, see directions
additional butter for coating bowls used and brushing on tops of baked rolls
Cinnamon Filling Ingredients:
1/2 Cup Butter, softened
1 Cup Sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp Cinnamon
Directions:
Scald milk (bring just to a boil and remove from heat immediately.
Stir in sugar, salt, and butter.
Set aside and allow to cool to lukewarm.
Mix warm water and yeast. Stir until dissolved.
Combine Yeast Mixture, Milk Mixture and half of Flour Mixture
Beat until smooth.
Add remaining flour gradually, mixing as you go.
Your dough should be elastic and slightly stiff but not dry.
Turn dough out onto a floured board and knead until smooth and very elastic.
This usually takes 8-10 minutes. (I used my KitchenAid mixer with the Kneading Hook for about 4-5 minutes)
Butter the inside of a large mixing bowl.
Put the dough in a bowl and turn dough over a couple of times to coat it all with the butter.
Cover bowl and place in a warm place so it can rise.
It will take about 1 hour to double in bulk.
At that time punch dough down and turn out onto a lightly floured surface, Roll Out to around 1/4″ in thickness.

- Melt 1/2 Cup of Butter, Spread butter evenly over Dough and then top with Cinnamon & Sugar
- Cut dough into long strips, then rectangles, then diagonally to form triangles.
- Then place one large marshmallow or 3 small marshmallows along the base of the triangle, Roll up the dough around marshmallows
- Pull Corners in to form a circle or "Tomb"
- Allow to rise overnight in the fridge, Remove from fridge and let rise 45 min before baking (Note you can skip the fridge step if you are making these all in one day)
- Bake at 350 for 12 minutes.

Now when I was making these Resurrection Cinnamon Rolls I got a little sidetracked with one of my kids and they turned out a little dark! Normally they are really light and fluffy!
