Why You Shouldn’t Go Shopping on Black Friday
Yes, you read that correctly. This post is all about why you shouldn’t go shopping on Black Friday. So far we have taught you all of the reasons why you should, and how you can save, but if you still aren’t convinced that Black Friday shopping is for you, no worries. There are plenty of reasons why you shouldn’t go shopping on Black Friday, and we are going to explore those below. Take a look at 5 reasons why you shouldn’t go shopping on Black Friday and just stay home instead!
Why You Shouldn’t Go Shopping on Black Friday
1. Driving = Gas = Money
When you spend the day driving all over chasing deals on Black Friday, you are spending money on gas. Suppose you burn through 5 gallons of gas at $4 each on Black Friday. That is around $20 worth of gas. If your savings only equate to about $20, you really just broke even. Instead, stay home and save gas, which equals saving money.
2. The stress isn’t worth it.
Do you really want to play human bumper cars with a bunch of people who may or may not have showered yet that day in order to save $5 off a set of kitchen knives? Probably not. Decide if the stress of being hustled about with frenzied strangers is worth the money you can save.
3. You can shop online in your pajamas.
Why get dressed when you can shop online, in your pajamas, at 2 in the morning? When you shop online, the world and all of its deals are at your fingertips. Instead, stay home and save your nice clothes for later. When you shop online, pants are optional! I’ll be Posting TONS of deals this week! 4. The deals will be there later.
Some people seem to think that the stores will vanish the minute Saturday hits and no more deals will be found. This is not true. Deals will always be around during the holiday season as retailers try for your hard earned dollar. They won’t just give up after one day. So relax, the deals will still be there the days and weeks following.
5. Your time is worth more.
Sure you might want that DVD player for $7.99, but is it worth waiting 4 hours in line for? If you paid yourself even $5 an hour for the time you spent in line, that DVD player really ended up costing you $27.99. Not such a great deal now, huh? Think about what your time is worth and if the item you want is really worth standing around twiddling your fingers for.
There you have it! 5 reasons why you should stay home on Black Friday. You can still save. You can still find great deals. You can still enjoy a fun and frugal holiday. What you don’t have to do is stand neck to neck with strangers fighting over the same pile of video games. Instead, give the tips on this list your consideration and save time, money, and above all, your sanity.
