Six Amazing Uses for Flour
Flour is not the first thing that comes to mind when you think about life hacks. It is a pretty obvious product with a very clear purpose for most people. But for those of us that like to find new and powerful ways to use everyday products, flour becomes a playground of usefulness and fun!
Here are some really cool uses for flour (aside from the obvious and everyday):
To Clean Your Sink
Any type of stainless steel really responds well to this but sinks seem to shine up the best. Simply take flour and buff into onto the dull areas of your sink. Allow it to sit and then rinse it all away and you will see an incredible shine.
To Fight Pimples
Who doesn’t have a pimple now and then they want to get rid of? When that nasty bump shows up out of the blue and you need a quick fix, try this homemade solution. Mix up a ¼ cup of flour and about a capful of pure honey. Then add in a slight squeeze of orange juice. Take this and mix well. Then apply it directly to your pimple. (It should be a paste consistency) Cover with a band aid and then wait till morning.
Playing Cards
Make those cards shuffle like new. Simply place them in a sandwich or plastic bag along with a bit of flour and bounce them around for a few minutes. The flour will soak up the nastiness like oil and make them slippery all over again.
Ants
Flour is the ultimate ant repellent without dangerous chemicals. Simply put a line of flour any place that you see them entering your home. They will not cross the flour and you don’t have to worry about your kids or your pets.
Sprinkle on Vegetables
Squash and even potatoes are thought to grow better if you sprinkle them with flour while they are in the ground. The reason why is because flour is a good repellent for the pests that like to ruin those crops. Some folks think that flour helps in other ways, but nothing has been proven to back that up just yet.
Make Moldable Clay
Making play clay with flour is incredibly easy. Four cups of flour, two cups of salt and about two cups of water can give you art work you will enjoy forever. Simply mix it, knead it and then store it in an airtight container. This stuff is awesome and you can bake them after you finish to make them last.
