Packed with chocolate and perfect for the lunchbox these Triple Chocolate Freezer Bars are the best family friendly treat for busy days.
Chocolate + Easy + Freezer Friendly? Count me in! These Triple Chocolate Freezer Bars are a dream come true for the busy back to school season.
Whip up and bake a big batch of these chocolate bars and cut them into squares. Let them cool then tightly wrap in plastic wrap, or just place them all into a freezer-friendly plastic bag. I love that these triple chocolate bars are freezer friendly, which is one of the best things about this recipe!
The great thing about having frozen triple chocolate bars is that when dinner time comes you just need to take them out and quickly pop them in the microwave for a minute or two to have a dessert that tastes like it just came out of the oven.
Another great thing is that they thaw really really quickly, so you can pack them in the lunchbox and once the little ones are ready to enjoy them they will be ready to eat. So yes, this is what we have been doing non-stop around here for dinner and lunchbox treats.
And then there’s the chocolate, I mean if you like chocolate you are going to love this recipe. The cake is chewy and soft at the same time, and it’s all topped with a layer of chocolate frosting and then some chocolate shavings. I love to top desserts with a generous amount of chocolate shavings since not only they are delicious, but they also help to hide any frosting mistakes, meaning that you don’t need to be a master decorator to whip them up.
While I use store-bought frosting for this recipe (frosting is something that is almost always on sale), you can also whip it up yourself with 1 part butter, 3 parts confectioners sugar, a 1/2 part cocoa powder.
