If you are looking for a fun way to create a 4th of July Outfit for Kids then make sure you check out this super simple and frugal DIY Splatter Paint Tutorial for Kids!
I really wanted a way for my kids to have 4th of July Outfits that didn’t cost a fortune! This is something my mom and I used to do when I was little and my kids had a blast creating their own shirts for the 4th of July! You could use this same method for just about any event, even Neon or Glow in the Dark on White for a Black Light or Skating Party could be fun!
Here’s what you need to get started:
White T-Shirts, Tanks or Canvas Tennis Shoes (I got all of mine at Walmart for around $3-$4 per item)
Red Fabric Paint
Blue Fabric Paint
Paint Brushes
Kraft Paper, or Cardboard
How to Create Your Splatter Paint Tees:
1) Lay out your supplies on the Cardboard or Kraft Paper
2) Put your Shirt or Tee Flat on the Cardboard
3) Pour Fabric Paint into Paper Bowls or Paint Pan
4) Dip Paint Brushes in Paint
5) Holding the Paint Brush about 8″ From Fabric Flick your Wrist to allow Paint to Fly onto the Shirt (Do Not Allow the Paint Brush to Touch the Shirt)
6) Repeat with each color until the look you want is achieved
7) Allow to Dry Completely
8) Wash Inside Out after wearing
You can also do this on Ribbon with your Team Colors from your School, or take White Ribbon and use Splatter Paint and allow it to Dry before making a Matching Bow if you have little girls! The ideas are really limitless, another fun idea is a Tote bag to use as a gift bag or a teachers gift :)
