We all know that toilet paper supplies have left the shelves empty. Let’s be real for a minute, what happens if you can’t find any toilet papers and you need some….help? We are here for you! Here are some Alternatives to Toilet Paper for you today!
Alternatives to Toilet Paper
Raise your hand if you thought the hardest thing to find during a crisis would be toilet paper? I did not see that happening! We all kind of laughed it off but then you get down to your last roll and suddenly it’s not so funny! So what to do if you are running out of toilet paper? Here are some alternatives.
Our European friends have been using bidets for years. These are the best alternative to toilet paper and now you can get one without changing out your toilet. I’m not here to tell you how they work but you should put one a the top of the list (especially considering some of the other ideas I will share)! Amazon has the Astor Bidet listed for $34.95!
Flushable Wipes
Do NOT flush baby wipes down the toilet! If you do then just go ahead and call the plumber. Baby wipes are not designed for flushing. There are flushable wipes that you can use. Cottonelle Flushable Wipes say they are “Designed for Toilets” and they have been tested. That makes them a good alternative to toilet paper.
Reusable Toilet Paper
Desperate times call for desperate measures. Reusable Toilet Paper is not my first choice but compared to other alternatives, it’s not so bad. You can get 25 reusable toilet paper clothes that are machine washable and you can tumble dry. They claim “each cloth sheet measures 7 x 7 inches and is 100% Polyester with sturdy edges that will keep these wipes working for many years”! There was a time that we just called these washcloths but times have changed.
Tissues
You can still find Kleenex in stock at most places. That’s good because we can use it for an alternative. Just don’t flush it or you will have to call the plumber back out!
Sponge
One of the oldest methods of personal hygiene has included a sponge. They used a gompf stick that had a sponge attached to it. This tracks back to the Middle Ages. I’m just here to share alternatives…
Reusable Fabric Toilet Wipes
I know what you are thinking “didn’t you already mention reusable paper?” Yes but this is Reusable Toilet Paper Wipes! Not to mention, this one has lovely colors to choose from. Handmade Australian Textiles says “Each square has a plastic press stud at each end making it easy to use and easy to roll back up after each wash.” Each roll is $48 (with press stud) and $45 without studs.
Take Out Napkins
Now we are starting to get desperate! All those Take Out Napkins that you have been storing in the junk drawer or glove box? Time to start using them. DO NOT FLUSH THEM!
Leaves
The oldest solution is using certain leaves (now would be a good time to see what poison ivy looks like). There are some that believe certain leaves contain antiseptic so we have that going for us.
We hope this post has given you some alternatives to toilet paper. Let’s all hope the shelves are fully stocked soon and we will not need these options!
What about water bottle? The washable cloths gross me out.
