Can You Freeze Christmas Magic Bars
Yes, you can! Allow these bars to cool completely, and then freeze as a whole or slice them up into bars. Wrap in aluminum foil and then put in a freezer bag and freeze up to 3 months. Allow bars to thaw completely before serving.
Variations Of Christmas Magic Bars
Feel free to use different colored M&M’s or try out the holiday flavors like peppermint to give the bars a little bit of a different taste. If you use flavored M&M’s like peppermint, I would not add in the butterscotch chips, as peppermint and butterscotch might not mix well! But other than that this is a pretty versatile recipe.
I hope you all love these bars, and if you try them let me know in the comment section below!
When I tried to make this tonight all the M&m’s melted together and it looks terrible. What did I do wrong??
I have made these for 3 different cookie exchanges this year. They are delicious! I substituted peanut butter chips for the butterscotch.
After they cool do they need to be kept in the fridge?
Good recipe!
Look forward to making on other holidays with the right colors of m&m’s. Red for Valentine’s day , green on St Patrick’s day, red, white & blue for the 4th. Even for friends & family on special occasions when I know their favorite colors! Thanks!
can you used white chocolate
You can substitute the chocolate chips or butterscotch chips for a different flavor if you prefer. If you like white chocolate chips just substitute them in the same amount for the one you don’t prefer. Enjoy!
Baking these tonight one batch with salted caramel chips the other with butterscotch chips! Can’t wait to bring these to work!
I didn’t have regular sweetened condensed milk but had caramel flavored sweetened condensed milk and they were just as delicious!!
What variety of chocolate chips do you recommend in this rendition of holiday bars? Thanks!
I like to use Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips!
