If you are like me, your day is filled with so many different things. Between getting the kids to and from school, various sport practicies and dance classes, grocery shopping and just the general running of a household, some of the little things can get lost in the shuffle. One of these things for me is my daily chores.
In my effort to simply in 2014, I thought there must be an easier way to try to tackle all of these little jobs that need to get done each day. Most of the items on my list only take a few minutes to do, but when you try to do them all at once it seems overwhelming.
I created a checklist of all of the chores I like to get done each day. I have it hanging where I can see it, and each time I have a few minutes I go to my checklist and check off one or two items. Some chores, like making my bed, I usually have done and can check off when I first get to my list that day. (Go me!)
You can download your own Daily Household Cleaning Checklist to help you stay on track throughout the day. This one is already filled out for you with some suggested chores that you might want to do each day. Or you can download this Blank Daily Household Cleaning Checklist and fill in your own list of chores you want to try to accomplish daily.
If you like, you can easily frame your checklist and hang it on the wall. You can use an expo marker to check off your chores each day and you can easily wipe them off and start over the next day.
If you find you miss one or two chores on any given day, just make sure they get to the top of your list the next day! And don’t loose sleep over it because it happens to all of us.
I have one overall household cleaning tip that really seems to help me keep my house organized and the clutter under control. Whenever I leave a room, I take a quick look around and gather up items that do not belong there. If possible I put each away where it belongs. If the chore of putting the items away will take longer than I have time for at the moment, I grab a basket and place all of the items in it. Time permitting I go back to that basket and walk around the house putting items away. But at least for the moment I do not have a few items where they are not supposed to be.
