If you are a Fan of Passion For Savings on Facebook then you saw me talking about making Homemade (Well Semi-Homemade) Pizza last night!
I wanted to quickly share my EASY Homemade Pizza tips and my favorite Pizza Sauce Recipe.
I often like to make my own Pizza Dough, but when I am in a hurry and looking for an Easy Dinner this Jiffy Pizza Crust Mix is my fall back. It’s just $0.56 per box at Walmart and depending on how hungry we are we use 1-2 boxes. 1 box makes about a Medium size pizza with Thin Crust.
I also used the $1/1 Target Coupon for Market Pantry Cheese to get Cheese for $1.49 per bag this week, and the $0.50/2 Kraft Cheese Coupon from Coupons.com last week to get the Mozzarella Cheese on sale.
For the Toppings I just use the Cooked Hamburger Meat that I always keep in the freezer, this also helps to save a TON of time and keeps the kitchen from getting too messy, I just pull this out to thaw a few hours before I want to start cooking.
Here’s my Quick and Simple Pizza Sauce Recipe.
Homemade Pizza Sauce Recipe
In a 4 Cup Pyrex Measuring Cup Combine the Following Ingredients:
1 15 oz. Can of Tomato Sauce
1 Tablespoon of Oragano
1 Tablespoon of Onion Flakes
2 teaspoons of Sugar
1 teaspoon of Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon of Salt
1 teaspoon of Pepper
1 teaspoon of Basil
Stir the ingridients together and you’re ready to go. Note: Technically you can cook this recipe first but I have found that it cooks great while it’s in the oven so I’ve never really cooked this before using it on the Pizza.
To make the Pizza I just Follow the Directions on the back of the box for the Crust, Add your Homemade Sauce, Toppings and Cheese! Cook for 18 minutes at 425 Degrees!
What’s your favorite kind of Pizza? If you have another recipe you want to share I’d love to give it a try, just leave it in the comments!
Is this enough for ONE pizza or TWO? I always end up putting too much sauce on my pizza! LOL
I use it for 2 Pizzas. :) You can freeze it for next time :)
We like using the Rhodes Bake and Serve frozen bread. Delicious
