Have you tried the 1960’s hot Dr. Pepper drink yet? This is a popular drink back in the ’60s for soothing a sore throat. Two ingredients are all that this drink needs, and it is pretty tasty!

Hot Dr. Pepper
Hot Doctor Pepper was created many many years ago to soothe a sore throat or warm you up on a cold winter day. Heat the pop in a pan on the stove. Add lemon to a cup and pour the warm soda on top. In my version, I reached for our microwave for a super quick cook time.
Sip and enjoy all the flavors from Dr. Pepper paired with the lemon.
Why Make This Drink Recipe ..
- 2 ingredient drink
- kid-friendly

- quick to make
Does This Work With Diet Dr. Pepper
I have not tried using the warm diet Dr. Pepper for this drink recipe. You could run in where the artificial sweeteners affect the flavor and the aspect of soothing your throat.
You are welcome to give it a try if you feel like it. But, I can’t 100% say that it will work. I would assume it would not.
Can Kids Drink Warm Dr. Pepper Too
This is a kid-friendly drink. If you want to serve up a little bit of this to help them warm up after playing outside in the snow, etc. Go right ahead. Just remember the pop has caffeine so I wouldn’t suggest letting them drink a lot of it.
Does This Drink Store Leftover
For this Dr. Pepper with lemon, it is best to only make what you plan to drink. The flavors will change as it sits and chills in the refrigerator. But you can pour as much or as little of the drink in a mug, heat, and enjoy.
By doing this drink in the microwave it makes it super quick to make a single-serve cup.
