It’s that time of year again. People are starting to think ahead to Spring Cleaning! For most people the daunting chore of cleaning all of your windows, inside and out, is often included on that list.
I tend to love Spring Cleaning. Though it takes a lot of work to get all the items on my list done, I try to engage the rest of the family as much as possible and have fun with it. Spring Cleaning to me is just a fresh start each year to get my house as clean as possible and keep it that way.
Windows by themselves can be a scary task, especially if you have high windows outside that require a ladder to really get to. Sometimes I can get my husband out on a ladder for some of the higher windows, and that helps a ton.
Cleaning windows is not many people’s idea of a fun time. But it makes it worse when you clean them and they end up all streaky and just don’t look clean. Here is a homemade window cleaner that will not only clean your windows for less, but will leave them streak free.
What you Need:
— 1/4 cup white vinegar
— 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
— 1 Tbsp Cornstartch
— 2 cups warm water
What to Do:
— Combine all the ingredients together and pour into a clean spray bottle. I typically like to recycle old spray bottles for my homemade cleaners.
— Shake gently until all of the cornstarch is dissolved. You may need to do this each time you use it if you see that cornstarch has settled to the bottom of the bottle.
— Spray onto windows and wipe off with a lint free cloth or newspapers.
If you are doing your outside windows and they are really dirty, you will want to rinse down first with soapy water to get all of the dirt off.
Hopefully this homemade window cleaner will give you as good as results as you get from store bought cleaners, and for a fraction of the cost.
I often find myself buying other product but the thing is I always come back to the basics, like this one.. I make something like this to do my windows.. great recipe and thanks for share
