The demand for new content means that streaming services are paying more for it and have been passing that increase on to consumers. So make sure you know how to save money on streaming services!
Take Advantage of Bundle Deals
One of the easiest ways to save is to bundle services! The Disney Bundle allows you to get Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+ all for $14 a month (the price increased 3/26/21). If you were to sign up for each of these streaming services separately, the total would be $19.97 a month. So that means you save $6 a month when bundling. Try it Out for FREE
We all love the try before you buy option in life! There are so many streaming services that it really makes sense to try them for free and see if you like them. I have tried several of them and I like the interface on some better than others. I like the content in some services better than others. Sometimes I try it just to watch a series and then cancel it. Netflix had one of the best free trials (30 day) but they recently ended that offer.

Check Your Phone Provider
One way to save on streaming services is to shop cell phone plans! They have started rolling out plans that include streaming services. TMobile gives Netflix Basic (1-screen SD) included with their Magenta plan with two or more lines. Any Magenta Max plans include Standard Netflix (2-Screen HD).
Verizon customers that choose the Unlimited phone plans can select free Disney+ or the Disney Bundle! Verizon offers 6 months free and then there is a charge for Disney but it will still be cheaper than paying separately.
If you are an AT&T customer then you can stream HBO Max with some unlimited plans!
Get a Family Plan
Many streaming services offer a Family Plan and it’s a great way to save money! It will cost you more per month but it’s cheaper than individual plans. Generally, one person pays the bill and each member will get their own account. Some people just share their login and password with others but streaming services are now implementing restrictions making that more difficult.
Hulu– Technically, they do not have a family plan but you can have up to 6 viewer profiles. The cost is $8 per month (with commercials) or $12 (no commercials).
Netflix– Sign up for Netflix Family Plan and create up to 5 profiles and you can personalize ratings, individual playback settings, and maturity levels. Netflix Family Plan allows you 2-4 simultaneous streams and up to 5 profiles, The cost per month is $11-$14.
Watch Movies for Free
You can’t beat free! And there are places where you can stream movies and tv shows for free! Sometimes we post Free VUDU movie codes but VUDU also has several movies/shows that you can watch for free. Most of these freebies will have ads. Go here to view the list of FREE movies and tv shows.
Watch FREE On Demand Content
There are streaming services that allow you to watch free on-demand content! One of those is Pluto. You can stream more than 250 TV channels and thousands of on-demand movies for FREE! Just click “stream now” on your computer to get started. They have 1000s of movies that can be streamed for free!
