Cartwheel Applies Online
Guess What?! I just saw on my Cartwheel app that Target is now allowing you to use Cartwheel offers to Target.com orders online, when you use Order Pickup in from the Target app, and when you choose Drive Up Orders from the app!
WOW! I tried all of the options, and they all seem to be working!
Using it in the app was easy! I searched for an item I needed and the Cartwheel was available right underneath it. I can add it to my online cart in the app and check out right there!
If you thought that was easy, when I added a Cartwheel offer to my app on my phone, I went online and it was also applied there! That is so nice for times when you aren’t at home and want to do some online shopping later. You can add the Cartwheels to your cart, then go home and place your order if you don’t want to order from the app :)
For drive up orders, just place your order and the Cartwheel offers will apply, too. Then, park in the new Target Drive-Up Spots after you have been notified that your order is ready, and let them know you are there through the Target app. They will bring your order right out to you! I added items to my cart and the Cartwheels just magically show up! How cool is that?!
Target Gift Card Stacking Rules
I want to preface all of this by saying that Target hasn’t written anything official about this, yet, but I know it’s going on almost everywhere, so I think we all need to be aware. If you haven’t seen this, yet, I would count on your store having this update soon. There appears to be a new software update in the Target registers that factors the gift card before your coupons.
For the first time last Sunday, I noticed that on the deals I was getting back gift cards, my coupons were being adjusted down.
For example, if you buy 2 items that are $5 each and Buy 2, Get a $5 Gift Card, if you had two $3 coupons, they would scan at $2.50 each. That means you will pay $5 out of pocket (having subtracted the $5 Gift Card Value FIRST) and get a $5 Gift Card. In the past, you would have gotten the full $6 value of the coupons and paid $4 out of pocket and gotten the $5 Gift Card. You still get a $5 Gift Card, but your coupon values are less.
All I know for certain is that it puts a “return” value on the receipt which appears to be the value of the manufacturer’s coupons.
My transactions on Sunday had the Cartwheel and Target Coupons being deducted before the Gift Card. So, based on the deals I have gotten, it looks like the order of discounts is Target Coupons, Cartwheel, Gift Card, Manufacturer Coupons.
How Target Final Prices are Calculated
1. Target Coupons
There are a few different ways to get Target Store Coupons!
Printable Target Coupons – Check out the Coupon Page on Target.com to print Target Store Coupons and Manufacturer’s Coupon. They have a new feature where you can select Target Coupons or Manufacturer’s Coupons at the top of the screen! You can stack one Target Coupon with one Manufacturer Coupon. This is one of the best ways you can save at Target! Here’s a great post on Stacking Coupons.
Newspaper Insert Coupons – These coupons are located in the Sunday Newspaper inside the Smartsource and Redplum Inserts.
Weekly Ad Coupons – Check the Target Weekly Ad in your Sunday Newspaper. You will find small dollars off coupons and then some “total purchase coupons” for big savings like $15 off $50 Household Purchases. Total Purchase Coupons apply in ADDITION to Target Store Coupons and Cartwheel Offers. So, if you have a $15/$50 Houseold purchase, you just need to meet the $50 minimum BEFORE Coupons and Cartwheel discounts! Plus, you should be able to stack a total purchase coupon with a Target Coupon & Manufacturer Coupon on each item. This is one of the best ways to reduce your out of pocket when shopping at Target!
Target Mobile Coupons – Text the word OFFERS to 827438 to start receiving Target Mobile Coupons. Remember, standard message rates apply. We often frequently post new codes and deals you can get with these.
2. Target Cartwheel
Cartwheel is an App you can get on your phone that has SO MANY percentage off coupons and discounts. It is so easy to use and I LOVE IT. You will see the percentage off Cartwheels as well as coupons you can clip and use at checkout! The dollar off coupons are manufacturer’s coupons that you use just like a paper coupon, but you can only use one. You will see the exact same Printable Coupons here if you want more of that coupon. All you have to do is tap on the offers you want to get which will add them to your cart, then you can tap on checkout and you will have a bar code ready for you. Just hand it to the cashier, they will scan it, and that’s it!
You can use each Cartwheel offer up to four times per transaction, but some will have other restrictions, so check each offer. You can use one Cartwheel bar code per transaction, and you can use up to 6 bar codes per day.
3. Gift Cards
Target Gift Card Deals are the best and SUPER easy! They have lots of offers each week where when you buy a certain number of items, you get back a Gift Card! As I said earlier, they are now being subtracted BEFORE your Manufacturer’s Coupons, so keep that in mind.
4. Manufacturer’s Coupons
You can find Printable Manufacturer’s Coupons here, on Manufacturer Websites, Facebook Pages and more! Also, check your coupon inserts in the local Sunday newspaper. They tend to have Red Plum, Smart Source, and occasionally P&G Inserts. Each week there are a different number of inserts available, so I recommend buying multiple papers when there are multiple inserts included. You can also ask Family and Friends to save their inserts for you or look in your local grocery store for product displays and coupons attached to products. Some printable coupons also have a receive by mail option so that you can have the coupon mailed to you.
