Are you constantly paying back friends and family? I buy a lot of things for family and friends therefore I constantly have lists of who owes me for what and how much.
I just found about a new app called Square Cash that is perfect for me and will simplify my life! It is perfect for paying back friends and family!
Robust Options and Advanced Features
You can cash out to your bank instantly
Use it with anyone, even if they don’t have an account
Send money to friends and family with your debit card at no cost
How to Get Started
- Download the Square Cash app for free (iPhone or Android)
- Enter your email or phone number
- Enter a security code (they’ll send it to you)
- Add a debit card to your account (which is how you send money for free)
- Pick a $Cashtag which is like a user name and how people will pay you
- Start sending and requesting money
Sending and Requesting
Sending Money – You can send money to people, even if they don’t have an account. They will need to accept payment by getting their own Square Cash account. If they already have an account you can search for them in the “To:” box. If you send money using your debit card there is no fee. You can send money by using your credit card, but there is a 3% fee.
Requesting Money – This is one of my favorite features! I send a lot of text messages to my sister and sister-in-law reminding them what they owe me. Last week I ordered flowers for my Mom that I was splitting with my sister. I also ordered a Christmas gift for my son, but sent it to my sister-in-law to wrap for him and she owed me for that. My sister sent me a costume for my daughter to wear to her school for their “Dress like a Book Character Day” at school and I wanted to reimburse her for the shipping. This is a frequent occurrence for me!
Security
You may be wondering if this site is secure. To check out all their security features you can go to Square Cash and read about their security.
Referrals and Rewards
You can also invite your friends to use Square Cash and get $10 when they send their first $50. Plus, they earn $5 for themselves.
Cashing Out
If you choose to cash out instantly there is a 1% fee. But if you wait 1-3 days you can do this for FREE! You can select an option to automatically Cash out when you have money in your account. Then you choose between an instant cash out or to wait the 1-3 days. Right now, I’m not cashing out automatically because I want to spend my Square Cash right from the app.
Spending your Square Cash Online
You get the option of getting a virtual card number that will allow you to spend the cash in your Square Cash account online for FREE! I love this option, especially when I do a lot of online shopping. This will come in handy for me at Christmas because my nieces and nephews live out of town and I love buying their gifts online and sending them directly to their house. I also do this a lot for birthdays too!
Scenarios for Using Square Cash
Sharing the cost of a Teacher Gift with some Friends
Paying your friend for a toy she’s selling you
Sharing a Pizza Night with your buddies – you get the whole check and need the guys to pay you back
Paying for all tickets so you can sit with your friends at a concert and need to split it with 5 other friends
Try Square Cash for yourself! I did and I really like the app! Square Cash is the easiest way to pay back your friends or family. I will be telling them about this new app so we can start reimbursing each other more efficiently! Download Square Cash from the Apple App Store or Google Play Market.
You can also use Square Cash for business. I’ve seen more and more people using apps for their small businesses and seems like a great way to get paid for their services. Check that out too if you’re a business owner!
Square Cash is also on Social Media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram
