How to make your Walmart Jeans Look Expensive
I loved Heather’s jeans she had on the other day and when she told me they were under $20 from Walmart I ordered them immediately! Had she not told me they were from Walmart I would have thought they were a much higher-end brand because they looked so cute. She said the key to making them look this way is cutting them, then fraying the edges. We even ripped the holes in the knees more to give them a tad more distressed look.
All you need is a good pair of Fabric Scissors. I went with a pair that is heavy-duty since we were cutting denim but I bet any pair will do. This is the pair of Walmart Jeans we ordered and they are currently on sale for just $19. (was $32)
See how they are too long and bunch at the bottom? That would have made me say immediately no to buying these in the store. Which happens to me a lot. I can just never seem to find a great length for me.
Try them on and cuff them to where you think would be a good length. What makes this so great is you can do them to whatever your specific need is. I have some taller ankle boots that I don’t wear too much because none of my jeans look right with them but after cutting this pair they will.
After you cut the jeans to your desired length you can start to “fray” the edges. Just roughly pull at the edges all around. They will also fray more over time as you wash and wear them. We just frayed mine a tad but the pair Heather has had for a while look even better! We also pulled sideways on the rips in the knees to give it a more broken in look.
The after! See how cute they look!! I am in love. And not only do they look cute cut they are also super comfy. They have a great stretch to them and aren’t stiff at all. And now that I see how these have turned out I will be ordering all the other colors while they are on sale! ha ha:) But at this price, you can buy several and make them look/fit how you want versus paying that for one pair at a department store.
