FAQ: How to Remove a Dent From Your Hydro Flask Tumbler
If you own a Hydro Flask for any period of time, it’s likely you’ll experience a dent or two. Whether it’s dropping out of your lap and onto the cement while getting out of the car, or falling from your backpack on a hike, it is unfortunately bound to happen. While they still remain fully functional with a dent, you may want to pop them out for appearance reasons. Here are the three ways to remove a dent.
- Heat Method: Fill the water bottle partially with cold water. Boil a pot of water and stick the water bottle inside. The pressure will then push out minor dents.
- Freeze Method: Fill the bottle almost full with water. Position it in the freezer to where the air bubble is as close to the dent as possible. Leave it to freeze for a few hours. Do not leave it overnight or the paint can be prone to chipping!
- Hair Dryer and Dry Ice Method: This is one of the most popular methods and works for many people. Use boiling water or heat from a hair dryer to warm the location where the dent is. Once it becomes hot, immediately apply dry ice to the area. The rapid change in temperature will build pressure that can remove stubborn dents. Repeat this process until you see results. Remember to wear gloves or use tongs when handling dry ice.
Hydro Flasks are double-insulated, so pushing out the dent from the inside will not work. On the internet, you may also find articles about putting dry ice inside the container to build pressure. I highly do not recommend this method. It can build so much pressure that it creates a mini explosion inside the house. It is not safe.
More Hydro Flask FAQs:
How long do drinks stay cold?
Cold drinks remain cold for up to 24 hours! It’s incredible.
How long do drinks stay cold?
When properly closed, hot drinks stay warm up to 12 hours.
Why are they so expensive?
Hydro Flasks are designed using a double-wall vacuum insulation and food-grade stainless steel. Those features allow for optimal temperature retention. For the durability, temperature control, and quality, it is absolutely worth the price!
Can I put my Hydro Flask in the dishwasher?
Yes! The all around tumbler is dishwasher safe! This may vary based on other water bottle styles from this brand, so just keep that in mind.
Can I bring my Hydro Flask on a plane?
Yes! TSA has approved Hydro Flasks with no limitations on the size of the container. Just remember that it has to be empty through security.
How do I avoid getting a fake Hydro Flask?
There are MANY scams revolving around Hydro Flasks. If it is being listed for oddly cheap on a resale site, don’t buy it. If it a “limited edition color” or one you can’t find elsewhere, it’s probably fake.
Hydro Flask will put discontinued colors on sale all the time, so check their site frequently for sales. Fake Hydro Flasks will not be the same quality as the real thing, so don’t fall victim to any “unbelievable” prices elsewhere.
Do Hydro Flasks have a warranty?
They sure do! Hydro Flasks have a lifetime warranty against any manufacturer defect. Please note that dents are not included in this unless it arrived with a dent and you are yet to use it.
