Try this Reeses Sugar Cookies Recipe with your family! These are fun to make and I love making my own frosting! Take these with you if you are heading to a barbecue or picnic with your friends and family! This is a great dessert recipe for any time of the year! I hope you and your family enjoy them!
Reeses Sugar Cookies Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
Sugar Cookie Ingredients:
¾ C. Shortening
1 C. sugar
2 eggs1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 ½ C. flour1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. Salt
2 C. Reese’s Pieces
3” round cookie cutter (you could also use a medium-size glass)
Frosting Ingredients:
1 C. of butter or margarine, softened
2 C. creamy peanut butter, any brand
4 C. powdered sugar
6 tbs. milk (you may want to add a little more or a little less depending on how thick you like your frosting)
DIRECTIONS:
Cookie Directions:
Combine your shortening, sugar, vanilla extract and eggs, mixing well.
In a separate bowl combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Slowly blend the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix well.
Place the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes to set.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Remove dough from the fridge and roll dough about 1/8” thick onto a lightly floured surface.
Cut with your cookie cutter (or glass).
Repeat until you’ve used all the dough.
Bake the cookies 6-8 minutes or until golden brown.
Frosting Directions:
In a medium-size bowl, blend the softened butter/margarine, powdered sugar and milk using a hand mixer.
Slowly blend in the 2 C. of peanut butter and mix well.
Frost each cookie when cooled and sprinkle with Reese’s Pieces.
*Makes approximately 3 dozen cookies. 1 cookie = 1 serving. Cookies can be stored up to 2 weeks in an airtight container.
