The Staples Coupon Policy says that they will Price Match a new identical item when you show the lower price from a competitor’s ad. They will also allow to you show the lower price within 14 days of your purchase and you will be given the difference for the amount you paid! Staples will also Price Match with select websites including Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, Office Depot, Office Max, and more!
They will not price match a competitor’s or their own local or special event pricing or items sold on auction sites.
You can use coupons at Staples and may use a Store Coupon, Manufacturer’s Coupon, and Rebate all in one transaction to get you the lowest price possible!
The best way to save at Staples is with their Easy Rebates. Easy Rebates are online rebates that you can submit and you will find the items available for Easy Rebate in the Staples Weekly Ad which comes out every Sunday. There are often Free items after these Easy Rebates so you should always be on the lookout for them!

Which items does Staples price match?
Almost everything we sell. The item must be identical, including model number, components and U.S. warranty. The item must be in stock and available for purchase at that price from an authorized U.S. reseller, whose authorization we reserve the right to verify. For wireless phones and other items with a service plan, only in–store purchases are eligible for price match. The plan, provider and other terms must be the same. Products and services purchased online at our Mobile Phone sales & service site are not eligible for price match.
Which items and services aren’t available for price match?
We don’t price match competitors’ or our own local or special events (e.g., grand opening, anniversary, clearance, timed sales or liquidation sales, “Black Friday” or “Cyber Monday” sales). The following products and services are excluded from our Price Match Guarantee: Tech Services; Print & Marketing services; products produced by third-party vendors; custom print and promotional products; postage; gift cards and phone cards; In Store Pickup orders; and apps sold on the Staples.com® App Center. Also, we do not price match taxes, warranties, typographical errors, merchandise credits or contracted prices offered to Staples Business Advantage® or Membership customers.
Are quantities limited on price–matched products?
Yes. One price match, per customer, per item.
How do Staples coupons and rebates contribute to the Staples price?
When calculating a price match, we’ll deduct any available Staples coupons, Staples rebates (instant, easy or mail-in) and manufacturer rebates from the Staples price to arrive at a net price. For example, if you buy an item from us for $100 and we offer a $20 instant rebate, the net price is $80. If another company’s price is $80 or more, we will not match the price. Another example: If you buy an item from us for $159 and you have a $30 coupon, the net price is $129. If another company’s price is $125, your price match would be $4 off our net price of $129. Dollars-off coupons will be proportionally deducted from the prices of items in your order.
Proration of coupons means that dollars-off coupons are proportionally deducted from the prices of items in an order.
The prorated discount from all coupons in the order will be used when calculating Staples’ price. The application of coupons can mean a specific purchase won’t qualify for price match. Similarly, a purchase that has a price match discount may no longer be eligible for a coupon if the adjusted order total no longer meets the minimum requirements of the coupon.
Will Staples match a competitor’s price for a product where the competitor also offers and instant rebate, mail–in rebate, gift check or gift card,or free or discounted item?
If a competitor offers a product that comes with an instant rebate, mail–in rebate, gift check or gift card, or similar discounts, we will only match the price you pay at the point of purchase and will not take such discounts into account. If a competitor offers a product that comes with a free or discounted item and Staples does not carry the free or discounted item and Staples does not carry the free or discounted item, we will only match the price you pay at the point of purchase and will not take the free or discounted item into account.
Are delivery charges included in the price match?
It will depend on whether the competitor’s order will offer free shipping:
- If the competitor’s order will receive free shipping, we will price match the product without considering shipping charges.
- If the competitor’s order will not receive free shipping, we will include an appropriate shipping charge in the competitor’s price before calculating the price match
